I can't honestly remember how much we paid but it wasn't that much I'm sure. I take it you have shopped around? eBay?
From memory I think we tried to glue it whilst we were waiting for the tank to arrive and it lasted a few days but I doubt it's going to last very long
Cheers,
Andy

Re: Thumping when pulling away?
Pretty sure the bellhousing was clear from oil. I tried to rock the engine and there was some movement side to side, but I'm not sure how much you are supposed to be able to move it? I guess it should have some tolerance. I could probably rock it by about an inch or so. I'm short on time, ability, s...

Re: Thumping when pulling away?
Thanks so much Kev. I think the noise does go when diping the clutch, yes. It really is just as the clutch is engaging so would make perfect sense. I think my guy checked the engine mounts but will double check that. I will look for this tell tale dribble of oil. Sorry, but where is the bell housing...

Thumping when pulling away?
Hi all. I have a thumping noise coming from under the van when I pull away. It only happens when pulling away (so 1st gear) and it's a repetative thumping, 4 or 5 times maybe in quick succession. My garage have just done the gearbox mount bushing and I still have the problem. It sometimes also make ...

Re: Coolant leaking from expansion tank
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I should clear up what my original problem was. In fact not a leak at the cap at all, it was a very small crack in THE tank itself near to the cap. I replaced the tank and it's been fine. Many thanks, Andy

Re: Where does the output wire go from the alternator?
Thanks for all your help, I think we are now sorted, well kind of. That 30amp draw was coming from the manifold heater and was causing a problem. It was on with ignition and if the van didn't start first time then it soon drained the battery. We have disconnected that now (for the time being) and it...

Re: Where does the output wire go from the alternator?
I haven't been able to get round there today. 30amps draw when running I believe.
Will catch up with my Dad tomorrow and see where we're at and take photos too.
Thanks very much for all of your help, I really appreciate it.

Re: Where does the output wire go from the alternator?
Guys, please can you help again?
This is all a bit above my head, but my Dad would like to know where does the red cable go after the black box? Apparently this is somehow drawing 30amps! If we can find out where it goes after the black box maybe we can fix the problem.
Thank you.

Where does the output wire go from the alternator?
Hi. My Dad has just replaced brushes and electrode on my alternator as it had stopped charging. The alternator is definitely working now, but it's not charging the battery. On inspection it seems there is a wire that should be going somewhere but isn't, it's the output apparently. Does anyone know w...
