Hi,well I keep filling up my header tank water but now notice sum white smoke/steam coming out (esp under load - up hill, pulling away). Does this sound like cyliinder head gasket? Ok thank you for help. I will stay well away from that Bolt now!! Reverse is ok so that narrows it down a bit. It was checked with linkage on and off so it looks like its def gearbox probs. Interesting thanks. Will be doing in in the next couple of weeks. Any ideas how that is done..how its heated up etc and how new gear is fixed back on? Also any idea of the cost of the parts?

Wow thats pretty amazing stuff..i never knew that. Makes sense really. Can you do that when its still on the van or do you have to take it off ...or doesnt it matter really and its easier just to take it off?

Thanks for the replies. I now have a turbo problem i have to sort out first now before i deal with the brakes but it sounds like you have hit the nail on the head. Ill let you know how i get on anyway.

Hi, i have oil coming out of my exhaust (brand new exhaust) pipe and lots of smoke! I assume the turbo is kapput! (or at least the oil seals). The turbo is making a spinning noise as usual but obviously there is something wrong with it. So i have some options now, either to replace with new (recon) ...

Hi, any ideas with this one? Start the engine from cold and i have a hard break pedal for the next 10mins or so then it seems to kick in and the brakes work ok. Pumping the pedal and pushing it hard eems to make no differenc. Just need to know if anyone has had this before and what the prob was. Flu...
