Re: fumes in van
Thanks guys - found a rather long! thin hole in my n/s rear wheel arch - filled it in with fiberglass padding for now until I have time to get it welded when it's not in so much use this summer! Tailgate flush + engine cover seals look to be OK. Also found another couple of holes just behind the rea...

Re: bosch distributor connector - male 3 pin rectangle type
Haha I got it working :ok - I checked my cam phone pic and I inserted it 180 degrees out ... re-aligning to cylinder no. 1 still didn't work ... So I finally checked the hall connector wiring, and pulled off the original connectors rubber sleeve (since i originally wired by the order as they entered...

Re: fumes in van
Did anyone get to the bottom of this ?!? I get it too in my 1987 high-top water cooled 2.1 - and looking under the rear right arch last week I noticed a hole, when I look up I see the plastic vent section in the rear corner. I've also noticed a big hole in the floor behind the fridge unit - obviousl...

Re: bosch distributor connector - male 3 pin rectangle type
Thanks for your advice Syncroandy - much appreciated! The plug you recommended looks virtually identical to the one I posted & have just purchased on ebay (although part no ref is different) which arrives tomorrow. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-3-Way-Sealed-Connector-For-Use-With-Hall-Type-Dis...

Re: bosch distributor connector - male 3 pin rectangle type
Yes I did push it home - the outside clip engaged, but I didn't use a crimper -- noted it was very hard to push the pins down inside the unit (once crimped + wired up), used a micro screwdriver to do this by pushing down on the back on the crimped housing (which just about touches the insulated edge...

See the difference in alignment between the new and original...
Could it potentially require a distributor for the original 1.9 engine as identified in the ebay item (especially if ignition coil is the original?!?) am stuck!
I will call Just Kampers in the morning to see what they say!
