The van was resprayed before I bought it - so I don't know how it was matched.
Thanks for your helps.
I will go to a local paint shop for advice on monday.

Re: Paint Code no match
Tried that.
The original paint inside the doors is still good.
The mixed paint is clearly a different shade anyway. It is not really close at all.
I wonder if the number is simply an error on the van.
Do you know where I can get a list of standard colours for 1986 to see if mine is one of those?

Re: Paint Code no match
One bought on the internet the other mixed at a local car shop.
Both these match but do not match the van.
It has been resprayed but original colour is visible in places.
Original colour matches the respray.

Paint Code no match
Hello, I have a 1986 Westfalia Joker (imported from Germany). The paint code is LA8A but I have purchased 2 cans (both Holt but from different companies) of LA8A spray. These 2 cans match but are definitely not the correct brown (original paintwork). Can anyone tell me where the problem is and how I...

Why 12v - 240v - gas fridge
I have a Westy with a fridge that works from 12v, 240v or gas. But why?
Why not just use gas all the time? Does it use a lot? Does it go out when driving?
I have not had the van very long but am going on a trip to France next week and would welcome any advice.
Cheers

Redline MT90 correct spec?
I was considering putting Redline MT90 in my 5-speed manual gearbox (1986) but am getting no advice from sellers. MT90 is 75W90 but original spec for my box is SP80 but sometimes I have seen 80W90 recommended. What difference will it make. Is 75W90 safe in my box. Sellers will make no comment and ju...

5 speed gearbox oil level
Normally gearboxes are filled to overflowing but a local guy who just does up T25's has told me that this is not correct for this box. The correct level is about 10-15 mm below the fill hole. Overfilling can cause oil seals to fail. Is he correct? I have filled mine to what he told me but I worry![/b]
