And note, if that battery sits under a front seat, then conventional leisure batteries are usually too big to fit. So most of us use a normal battery instead. How long's it been sat flat? I'm not sure but I suspect a long time. We bought it about a month ago and I drove it back to Ireland from Manchester. Thanks CovKid and ZsZ.

I found a suitable e-clip at the hardware store for 10 cents that fits perfectly.

I'll keep an eye out for some rubber hose or similar for the damping ring. Is it just to provide a bit of a cushion between the clinch bolt (31) and the retaining circlip (24)?
