The hydraulic tappets should not be adjusted.

Re: Poor cold starting - Aircooled
Putting the accellerator flat to the floor and dipping the clutch is the correct way to start them otherwise the engine will be flooded.

There's a lot of other watercooled stuff that's either no longer available or very expensive (eg. engines !).

Re: exhaust for CU engine
The heat exchangers are sealed to the cylinder heads by four gaskets, two per heat exchanger (note: the gaskets for cylinders 1 and 3 are different to the gaskets for cylinders 2 and 4).

Is there a website or link for that campsite? I couldn't find it via UK Campsites.

Re: Mot faliure
Reading through this thread, I think that the garage in question is more interested in taking customers for a ride by the sounds of it. For future reference only take you van to an MOT station who only does MOT tests and nothing else.

Re: engine cutting out
I would advise against the electrical fuel pump from a safety point of view (I suspect that the quality of them may not be up to scratch as with some of the other stuff I have bought from them), but by all means use it as a quick fix for now. Anyway to order the genuine pump have a look at my Volksz...

Body panel suppliers quality question
Hi everyone,
I have a quick question. How good are body panels (eg. front doors) from the following suppliers:-
- Alan H Schofield
- VW Heritage
- Genuine VW (are they still available to order from a UK VW Commercial Vans Center ?)
Thank you everyone in advance.

Type 2 T3 (T25) early to late doors interchangeability Q
Hi everyone,
I have a quick question. Are the late front doors interchangeable with the early front doors ?
I'm currently thinking about replacing the front doors on my campervan when it gets tidied up.
Thank you everyone in advance.

Re: tv aerial for van?
Hi everyone, I have been down the route of looking for camping aerials in the past and to be honest I think you'll be throwing money away. I think the best thing to have for watching TV whilst camping is Maplin's suitcase satellite kit http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48737" onclick...

Re: Service & Parts in London
What van is it ? Servicing one of these is actually fairly simple. All you need is the following:- - A decent socket set - A low range torque wrench (eg. Norbar's S1 or Halford's Professional small torque wrench) - A Haynes Manual and read it thoroughly. It will save you time in the long run. Learni...

Oops misread the original post.
In which case they will need to be adjusted to thier basic setup (I can't remember what settings they should be since I've never touched them, I'm sure other people on here will know). The hydraulic tappets should then (eventually) settle down by themselves.

Re: "knocking" Noise....Info Required!
Hi All, I have recently noticed a "knocking" noise from the rear of the camper (sounds like drivers side....LHD van) that speeds up & slows down with the speed of the van, being more noisy when slower such as pulling up to traffice lights and almost unoticable when at speed. I have ha...
