Thanks Aidan. That's pretty much what I was expecting. Now off to find a decent exhaust specialist! If anyone has recommendations surrey/hants border way let me know.
Cheers

What's this exhaust on South African Syncros?!
Hello, So I've been procrastinating with sorting out my leaky exhaust on my South African 2.1DJ Syncro. Have finally decided to do something about it and the good new is it's just around the silencer that leaking. Bad news is that the exhaust is nothing like any of the others I've found! It seems th...

Re: Syncropendence 2015 Booking
As already said thanks to everyone for a great event. Was good to meet you all. Still surprised how well these things handle off road! Sinai loved sitting in the back bouncing all over the place while the bus was madly scrambling up a hill. Looking forward to the next meet.

Re: Syncropendence 2015 Booking
All will be fine mate. Very family orientated, loads of choice for off reading dependant on ability, plus helpful co-drivers. Dog will love it, just be aware of sheep on campsite. In that case I've booked. Craig, Jo and Sinai. A campsite full of sheep is really not going to go well with our dogs! T...

Re: Syncropendence 2015 Booking
Hi,
We're looking at coming along to this, haven't done much in the way of off-roading in the syncro yet. Hope that's OK?!

Re: Gearbox leaks from CV joint
Yep, it'll be those seals. Not a tough job to be honest, just gives you neck ache with the gearbox in situ. Deep down I knew it would be, but was hoping! Thanks for confirming it. I'll sleep on it and see if I feel like tackling it during the week. At least I didn't get round to replacing the gearb...

Gearbox leaks from CV joint
Just had a nice weekend down in Devon in the bus for the first time. I've just been checking a few things over as it's been getting harder to get it into 4th. Clutch travel is to the floor, but until now havn't looked too hard at it. There's a fair bit of fluid around the clutch mater cylinder, so t...

Re: Part identification please
Cool, thanks. Might be the original aerial then. There's a replacement one in the radio which doesn't seem to work either so I'll give this a try. Cheers!

Re: Bad idle and kangarooing under load
So after taking a step back, rereading bently, haynes and anything else I could get my hands on. I started going through the basic checks again. Turns out the timing was out! :? I guess since I checked it I've adjusted a few things and didn't check it since. Theres still a hint of hesitation but it'...

Re: Bad idle and kangarooing under load
Oh yes that'll be tedious, but I know its the right thing to do.
I ordered a new temp 2 sensor earlier, did check my one with multimeter but so many people seem to solve their issues by replacing it thought it's worth doing.

Bad idle and kangarooing under load
Hello again, I'm on the verge of giving up and taking my bus to a specialist, but before I do I thought I'd see if you guys have any advice for me. I've been reading so much on here / wiki / google I wonder if I'm overcomplicating my problem. I'm learning a lot as I go here, so maybe there's somethi...
