Sounds like the clutch is slipping time for a new clutch I wouldnt be riding the clutch just now or you will burn it out completely .

Just replaced all mine dash was out for new heater motor so spent a bit of time chaging a few bits while dash out new wiper motor and lubed linkages etc tidied up any suspect conectors earth crowns and a thorough clean must be a pain changing those hoses with the dash in

http://www.vwcampercurtains.co.uk/ not sure if you can get origional curtains for an autosleeper but easy to make or buy curtains you can easily add poppers/press studs to any curtain. popper kits available on ebay got these guys to make a set for a westy great quality and fit

Just fitted one to my petrol van as you say just plumb in using the tank that comes with the kit so far so good with mine lots of info on youtube and mostly positive  :ok

Thanks for the reply I will need to have a look all I know its petrol with digital controller timer on the dash and also an on of switch in the rear off the van with manual dial for temperature control the heater is under the van in a metal box . £280 Petrol one but diesel the same. Hi I owned one almost 10 years ago now it was a low mileage example and the interior was falling to bits .the units are made of plastic and it cracked with age the wooden doors were like crumbling digestive biscuits and the fibreglass roof was disintegrating and leaking like a sive and you can't get...

Would rule out faulty temp gauge or sensor as you have issues with white smoke and bubbling header tank could be head gasket and these heads are prone to cracking . I have had several jx engined vans and have had to change head on a couple and the others I owned showed head replacements in the servi...
