Re: Help, please! Registering a German VW T25 in UK
Our 1985 Westy has gone through 2 MOTs since registration with beam benders and kph speedo with no issues. (Already had a fog light though)

Re: Couple of pics regarding ET and top balljoint
Very useful post Silverbullet! If the aftermarket 7x15 Pentas with an ET of 21 fit, could you tell me if a wheel of 6Jx15" with offset of 22 would fit? From reading the various posts previously, I thought the ET had to be somewhere between 33-38 ish? So an ET 40+ needs a spacer to bring it back...

Re: potentiometer
The potentiometer is exactly the same part I've been looking for for my converted Westy, with very little success. Found one on eBay from Spain which turned out to be dud. There seem to be plenty from Poland, but nothing new which is what I'd prefer...nothing from Europarts, etc! Our van's accelerat...

Alfa Romeo wheels
Has anyone tried fitting them? Other than likely weight/strength issues, needing adapters from 5x112-5x108 or even 5x98, and the centre bore needing to be enlarged to 66mm can anyone think of any issues?? Like the look of the Alfa Pepper Pots and reckon they'd sit just dandy on our Westy! http://pag...

Re: What car is this potentiometer from?
Thanks guys. Do you think the 3A1721568B number is the VAG part number or another Bosch reference? Syncrodaddy - to answer your question "Why is the pedal sender suspected ?", the shudder is possibly unrelated, but the potentiometer was diagnosed as the root cause for the following...on th...

What car is this potentiometer from?
We've got a 1Z 1.9TDI conversion on our Westy, in very wet weather it lost power, engine still ran at tick over but no throttle. Lots of Vaseline and WD40 around the potentiometer seemed to solve it. But we also got a bit of shudder from 1900-2500rpm (40-55mph), so i've found a 2nd hand potentiomete...

Loss of power at motorway speeds
Thanks syncroandy. Not sure it's going into limp mode as it's literally idling, no response when you depress the accelerator and not enough revs to so anything other than move a few yards and then dip the clutch again. Will have a look at the pedal sender connections and wiring though. As you say, i...

Loss of power at motorway speeds
Hi (Posted this the other day, but in the wrong forum)... I'm a new owner and total newb when it comes to mechanics really, so apologies if this description isn't clear and becomes quite long! I've done a few searches but not found anything exactly the same, so here goes: I recently bought a T3 West...

Re: Porsche Phone Dial wheels
Thanks Steve. Have been reading a lot of other people's posts and your replies and was hoping you'd reply as you seem the man in the know about these thing. Our van came wearing these 17" Porsche Cup wheels and we have to be VERY careful of any unevenness especially when on any kind of lock, ot...

Re: Loss of power at motorway speed
Thanks guys, realise now that I should post this in the alternative engines section...using Tappatalk is convenient, but not a patch on a standard web interface. From your reply pirate-Pete I would say the conversion I have is "the normal T25 pedal with original cable and have the potentiometer...

Hi New owner and total newb when it comes to mechanics really, so apologies if this description isn't clear and becomes quite long! I've done a few searches but not found anything exactly the same, so here goes: I recently bought a T3 Westy in Holland and drove it back to the UK via Belgium. It is a...

Porsche Phone Dial wheels
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/02/4yda9ata.jpg Hi Having just bought our first van (85 Westy), me and the wife took a trip to Volksworld on Sunday looking for inspiration on wheels and sounds. Pretty disappointed to see so few T3s at the show, and very few in the carpark. I did spot these Porsche ...

I just imported a Westy and have been looking for a good local specialist near Windsor for similar work. Readings not too far away, so Interested to hear your feedback
