Engine and Chassis Identification
Is there anywhere that I can use my engine number or chassis number to confirm exactly which engine or body type I have?

Pinking
1.9 petrol been running great for 6 months, just started pinking slightly this week and I wondered why? Could be coincidence, but it happened the first time I put max load uphill in 4th after filling up with petrol at a different petrol station (Esso). Could it be a bad batch of fuel?

Re: Petrol tank leaking (T25 1.9)
Thanks all. Got extinguisher. Think I will take it to a trusted garage. I don't have anywhere to work on it and need it to commute soon. Don't like taking chances with fuel. This could explain why I am only getting 18 mpg!

Petrol tank leaking (T25 1.9)
Filled my fuel tamk up and smelt fuel on tank and under engine. After 24 hours the tank level seems to have stabilised at about 3/4 full. Does this point towards a hole in the tank or a hose?

Re: Help - What is my van?
Thanks. Got the ones on the right. Assume the top 3 on the left are water levels, but bottom one on left on mine is red, and on all the time even though my gas is not connected to the fridge, so not sure about this one.

Re: Engine temperature sensor broken
Thanks again. I have heard that topping up coolant is not easy - if I get this changed quickly, will I need to top up, will I get an airlock, or should it be ok?

Re: Engine temperature sensor broken
Thanks everyone. Excellent advice. If I change this, will coolant come out, or is in in an air line?

Re: Engine temperature sensor broken
Was just wondering the purpose of the broken sensor. Does it somehow preheat fuel/air when cold to allow engine time to heat up?
