Re: Fuel gauge stopped working
Before you do anything drastic with the fuel tank I'd check the Voltage Regulator behind the dash cluster. It is a 10V regulator, and is often the culprit with this sort of thing. Here's the Wiki Info to start you off. :ok http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/VW_Electrics_Non_working_temperature_and...

Re: Ignition amp failure
When mine failed (2.0 CU), I would just be driving along and it would suddenly die, randomly to begin with. After five minutes it would restart. Eventually I could only travel a mile and it would cut out and then take longer before restart. I can 2nd that, this is exactly how the problem manifested...

Re: Fuel pump
Kinda depends if you still have the original mechanical pump, or an after market electric pump. I have an electric pump and it is under the van screwed on to the chassis around 30cm-50cm from the fuel tank. There should be an in-line fuel filter before it too. Can't really help you with the location...

Re: How much fuel is in the tank?
Ever wondered how many litres the gauge is actually showing in the tank. Useful stuff :ok Here's some related info that I recorded whilst tracing a fuel gauge fault a while ago. 3 points across the fuel gauge and the required voltage for that point. Might be useful to somebody ? http://i909.photobu...

. . . . . . . Oh, and in your forum account settings change your signature to be your van details/engine details.
Then when you post with questions and queries other forum users won't need to keep asking what you are driving.

Re: Tips for a new owner
Hi, Welcome to the forum and T25 ownership
I'd certainly address the petrol smell first.
There is a good section in the Wiki about this:

It's probably nothing serious, but better safe than sorry.

Re: Electrical gremlins
Over the weekend I discovered a number of electrical gremlins when I tried my headlights for the 1st time in a couple of months (Having been fine when the van was MOT'd) Seemingly a random set of electrical faults to do with the headlights & indicators. Headlights blinked when the hazards were o...
