Bugger! Well did the checks, removed belt roughed up the contact surfaces with emery, refitted and retentioned and it still squeals like a stuck pig! 1.9 dg engine

The alternator / timing belt screeches like mad on start up and first few revs of the engine. Once its warmed up the racket goes away. Is this anything to worry about and/or can I do anything to eliminate it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

they twist, and when you get them out have a self tapping screw and small washer to screw into the end of the tube so you dont loose it down the rear and then make sure you THROW the old ones away and only buy new genuine mm Thanks for the tip Mick I've tried to twist 'em out but still no joy.
