Re: fuel pump / fuel delivery problem
Cheers David I got it going by wrapping the hose in the engine bay with tape to ensure no air leaks then disconnected the hose where it couples to the rigid fuel line at the bulkhead and fed that end fuel from an aerosol cap while the missis turned the motor. Surprisingly it took a cap and half of f...

fuel pump / fuel delivery problem
Help! The van has been stood a couple of months waiting for a new clutch which we fitted at the weekend. Clutch fitted all Ok but the van now wont start. It ran fine before the clutch went. I've got a spark but the pump wont draw fuel through. I've checked the pipes and they seem fine if I put petro...

smell of fuel in the cab area
I've noticed recently, but not all the time, I get a right whiff of petrol in the cab area. It's not coming from the rear of the bus and I haven't noticed any drips below the van .. but it would evaporate anyway I suppose!.. I've read somewhere about fuel pipe deterioration any suggestions where I m...

Re: screaming alternator belt
Bugger! Well did the checks, removed belt roughed up the contact surfaces with emery, refitted and retentioned and it still squeals like a stuck pig! There is some very slight play in the water pump pulley, about half a milimeter or so, so I'm going to have to replace it. The worry is, the run to Bus...

Re: screaming alternator belt
All Thanks for the suggestions. I've checked the tension on the belt previously and it felt Ok to me. The inner face of the pulleys is polished and shiny so I could see some slippage occurring there. I'll slacken it off as suggested and see if there is any play in the pump or alternator but not the ...

1.9 dg engine
The alternator / timing belt screeches like mad on start up and first few revs of the engine. Once its warmed up the racket goes away. Is this anything to worry about and/or can I do anything to eliminate it?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Martin

Re: how do I get my windscreen washers out?
they twist, and when you get them out have a self tapping screw and small washer to screw into the end of the tube so you dont loose it down the rear and then make sure you THROW the old ones away and only buy new genuine mm Thanks for the tip Mick I've tried to twist 'em out but still no joy.
