Acuspark, but I ment there was a lot of play in the dizzy which was giving me similar symptoms.
Driving along engine dies under load, mess around on the side of the road bus starts drive another few miles engine cuts out same routine all the way back form the coast.

I had a similar problem with my bay 1600 tp and like you ended up replacing loads of bits and mine turned out to be the dizzy, replaced it and is running fine now..
