Re: Interior trim clips

Don't know if you got sorted. There's some cheap ones from china on ebay if you search screw in panel clips. They're 2 part plastic and a bugger to get out once in so I used the splay piece, to go in the hole, and then the shiny grub screws that hold hinges on a flat pack wardrobe. I can take them o...

Injection pump timing tool needed

Hi all.
I'm after timing tools for Bosch fuel injection pump on aaz engine. A loan would be ideal, I'm located Middlesbrough (and will obviously return some beer tokens) or a cheap second hand set for sale or a pointer where to buy the correct set.
Thanks in advance

Magnet wasn't bad on oil change. I don't know when it was last done though.
I best get saving.

Re: Gearbox question

Cheers Aiden It's a bitsa van so may be a bitsa box. Michael done the final drive mod with view to tdi in the future? Which is what I may do. Is it possible that the clunking of 2nd and 3rd is linkage adjustment or is it likely to be the syncromesh? I best get saving. What is approx cost of final dr...

Gearbox question

I've read the wiki but abit of advice please. I'm running a 1.9td aaz, rebuilt last year and running sweet. Box is 5 speed 3H box and 14 inch wheels. It sometimes jumps out of 2nd. Goes up the gears ok, clunks going down to 3rd and 2nd. I rarely use first. From reading wiki it sounds like syncromesh...

Re: Building a hybrid turbo

What's your comfortable speed on motorway.
I don't think changing the impeller will increase much. There's only so much air can get through anyway.

Re: Change engine

I don't have any knowledge with that engine, although it looks a straight swap, size and dimension wise. It may depend on the wiring.

Re: Turbo problems.

Cheers mpg. A picture paints a thousand words. I'm putting mine behind the light and cutting the floor out beneath it. I will then make a vent below it which will bend 45 degree to face out of the rear, below the valance. I will then box the cooler from the engine bay effectively making a wind tunne...

Re: Turbo problems.

That looks smart. Did you notice much difference with temps/performance? I'm debating cutting the left rear battery tray out from behind the light cluster. Laying a cooler down in there with a fan on top. Air would be drawn into the standard vent, down through the cooler and out behind the rear whee...

Re: Turbo problems.

Hi dubbers, I thought this thread was long gone. Since I started this thread I've done 1800 miles with no problems however I think my engine could run better so I've a few jobs planned- Brickwerks oil cooler DIY inter cooler, probably going to be plumbed in near the gearbox Breather on block to Oil ...

Re: Vdo oil temp/pressure gauges

That is steep.

Ill get the temp sender first. It's an aaz conversion without cooler so I'm curious what temp its running at.

My gauge is the same. There's method in the madness there.
I'm gonna get this Seder ordered.
Any chance you have the part number for the oil pressure sender.

Re: Vdo oil temp/pressure gauges

When it was in the boiling water did it line up with 100oC on the gauge or do you just have to remember where it went to?
