Battery drain

Hi all, for some reason my vans draining the battery whilst everything is off. The earth lead is getting "live" you can get sparks off it when connecting the battery. I've tried disconnecting all the fuses, all lights are off including interior lights. I can't seem to find what's causing t...

AAZ alternator belt

Hi, hopefully someone can help, my van keeps spitting off its alternator belt, it's likely that a pulley is out of alignment, is there an easy way to check which pulley might be the cause.

AAZ alternator belt

My van has currently an AAZ engine td, for some reason it is going through alternator belts, one has snapped recently and the current one is starting to move off of the relay pulley. It is possible that the relay pulley is not quite square with the other pulleys. Does anyone have any knowledge of th...

Auxiliary tensioner pulley

Hi folks, can anyone point me in the right direction if possible. My alternator belt on a 1.6td jx 89 multivan, has been squeaking having been replaced after engine rebuild. What is apparent is that the tensioner pulley under and to the left if the alternator pulley is slightly pissed and not in lin...

Re: Water leak

No obvious sign of tin worm and the screen seal is good, it's looking like a water line to squirter issue but I don't know how I get a good look at the lines to check? Any ideas or is it a dash out job?

Water leak

Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can assist, my drivers side on my LHD multivan, is getting a really wet carpet and I think it's coming from my water filler for the screen wash. Is this a known problem and if so is there an easy fix without running around without screen wash.
Kind regards
Nigel

Re: 1.6 td cambelt failure

Thanks for the replies, my belts just been changed so very annoying. Not sure which engine mine is cos it's a polo 1.6 td, luckily I've a mate with a diesel pick up that's being broken, just incase I need a new lump. Merry Christmas, blooming thing, still it's not the vans fault. I'll keep you poste...

1.6 td cambelt failure

Is cambelt failure likely to do the valves on a 1.6td t25, just out of interest.
Thanks.

Re: 89 diesel 1.6 td oil switch

Thanks for replies, I'm a shift worker so will reply when I can. It look to me like the original loom and the two wires are one black with blue tracer and a solid yellow?!
At present neither are connected.
Kind regards

Re: 89 diesel 1.6 td oil switch

Well the loom has two wires to the switch, the engine has been changed to a polo 1.6 td engine and that oil pressure switch has one prong. So I assume that the original lump had a two pronged sensor, it was still a 1.6 td. The switch is on the top near the oil filter. Thanks for the reply, it's much...
