Ignition module

Hi guys wonder if any one can shine some light t25 1980 air cooled 2.0l the module is completely disconnected , runs although bit lumpy put it down to carbs maybe need rebuild , question what does the module do and why would it be disconnected ? Thanks in advance

The important thing is to get to all of the rust, seams being the most problematic. If you only treat one side, it will come back. panel trial fitting , welded in and from the out side , quite pleased with how it turned out ..

pics on progress of the fridge panel ! , i cut down the schofield panel cutting the sill section off and creating a seam along the bottom with little more than a hammer and clamps and a long piece of timber to support it . then butt welded a seam on to the rear end to butt up to the rear wing ..

Been at the lower panel seams all after noon! Cut the panel down and added a seam to the left hand side, after trials of fitting and recuting trimming finally got it to look something like what it looked like before!! Pics to follow once I re size them! :ok o

the first pic is of the original top of the lower corner panel and the new schofield repair welded in to place , the repair panel is about 3 inches tall , the second pic is before adding the repair , just to clarify !!

ive used one of the schofield rear corner repair panels pic below bit blurry ! :) but was a fairly good fit i took inspiration from mm and pluged a inch wide strip on the inside of the upper corner then plug welded though to it .

thanks for the pointer mick , ill be cutting that panel down then i suspect ! ill post up the pics once ive had the hammer and cutter out ! cheers

fridge panel

With the on going rust removal on my 81 van , ive replaced the off side sill with a nice genuine VW part , question is there a repair panel available for the fridge panel which is the correct width with seams to the sides and bottom ? i have a schofield panel but is over size and includes the sill ....

81 A/C with Danbury auto roof ..or whats left of it ! having had the a previous owner of my van bodge the roof lift up mech and removed what i think should be an aluminum support for either end and replaced it with two gas stuts, which because of the missing frame , the roof doesnt open all the way ...
