awnings

Morning People just wanted a bit of feedback/advice on an awnings. Im looking at the drive away awning from NLA  NLA Vintage Yellow Driveaway Awning (nlavw.com) , which strangely seems to be set up for LHD vans, customer service says its suitable for RHD too. but would mean the inner tent would bloc...

Replacing Speedometer from MPH to KPH.

So, i've exported my van to Spain, all going well. When i took it for the ITV (MOT)it had few expected changes needed here and there (headlights pointing the wrong direction) but also they have a problem with the units of the speedometer. it needs to indicate KMH instead of MPH. does anyone know if ...

Re: Gear box swap out, what to expect?

Hi Aiden

i think the donor box came out of a 1.6 diesel its a DY code, why would a 2.0l be better? i have the appropriate linkage parts.

Re: Gear box swap out, what to expect?

Re: Gear box swap out, what to expect?

Hi there, im in the process of doing the same. with my experience, you'll need knew bolts, i got them on ebay. but i know vw heritage now has them in stock. i had a terrible time trying to get them out, every bolt seems to fight me on this van. they where the hardest part to once those are loose, th...

Re: My summer project ('82 1.6D T25 high top)

Some gearboxes aren't suitable for interchanging due to differing ratios etc, or you need specific parts to fit such as linkages and mounting brackets. Thanks David its a DY code so is a diesel 4 speed GB but the mounting bracket and the linkage is different, like you say. Have you any idea where i...

Re: Gearbox replacement

i can safely say i have no love for one of these box's. the other lets wait and see how easily it goes in first. i checked out the GBOX mounts on VW heritage, there is quite a differnece in price between the genuine VW part £135.00 and the Meyle one at £35.00 is this justified or am i just paying fo...

Re: Gearbox replacement

I've got a 1.6 diesel so this would suit. may be a rookie question but what difference does it make to the gearbox if its water cooled or air cooled?
Any idea where i get a suitable rear linkage rod and mount for the new Box?

My summer project ('82 1.6D T25 high top)

Hello all After buying my rust bucket/T25 last year, i finally got some time to do the work on it, weather permitting. It has the power to polarise people, either they see the potential for a lovely van or they see a pile of rust and an easy way to waste alot of money. the majority of people fall in...

I fear my roof may be in the same situation. i havent removed the hightop yet, still looking for a place to keep it while the roof is off. whatever has been used to seal the roof is rock hard though. any tips on removing the hightop?
