Re: Carb again

Well not so simple as part of the mechanism was bent out of shape and a spring unattached but I worked it out without any input or suggestions on here unless we’re counting sarcasm

Carb again

When I set high idle on top step of cam the adjuster screw is way of touching,is it a case of adjusting the screw until it just touches ? The tamperproof cap is still on so don’t know if it’s ever been messed with carb is 2e3
Got pics but won’t let me upload

Re: Setting choke gap

More confused now as the diagrams contradict themselves
Do you set choke flap gap with cam on highest step or set on second step as per both diagrams

Setting choke gap

Ok I’ve searched wiki and not got a definitive answer
To set choke gap on 2e3 do I remove choke housing ,choke flap white peg at 12 o clock no tension vac adjustment screw pushed forwards towards vac unit ,cam on high step or do I leave choke housing in place while I set it

Re: Pierburg 2e3

Thanks for your help
It was hard to distinguish the gasket from the packing plate on the bottom of the carb it was that faded,I sanded it off (I think) but should the actual packer come away from the carb or is it fixed and part of the carb

Re: Overfuelling in a Golf Mk2 8V 1.8 (PB Code) Digifant

The blue temp sender on the head does indeed control the fuelling and if faulty is probably telling the ecu engine is in choke mode ,for the cost I would just replace it but only use original part from Vw

Re: Golf GTI MK2 1995 Engine Concerns

Mk2 golf only made up to 92 are you sure it's not the agg engine from mk3 and it defo won't be kjet that was replaced by digifant 88 onwards unless it's a 16 valve kr engine from the mk2
