I would give everything a once over, clean the spark plugs, look at the distributor may be change it and the rotor ( easy to do). If the HT leads look crap then change them you can set a good set from gsf 20 squid. I would also look at the airflow meter/ box thing, give it a clean spray the connecto...

Thanks Ghost !! You have lifted my spirits defo ! :) I just rang Elite (probably opening a can of worms now with debates, I have read the 'Elite' posts on 80 -90 forum). Would you recomend Elite, they say they can either rebulid mine or fit a recon unit ( not sure what they rebulid and keep) for 980...

At the moment it seems to be about an egg cup of coolant, I have read that a guy on here has put 'k' seal in the system and ran it for 8,000 miles. I have double garage with most tools and space heater too, it just depends If I decide to go down that route. I was just wondering if there was anyone o...

Well, I have had a look I took the baffler plate thing off covering the o\s cylinder head and guess what the leaks coming from the rubber seal on between the cylinder head and block. Game over I guess ..........

Great thanks, I have done loads of reading on this problem on this problem. Looks like I'm gonna have to do some more research. I'm really hoping its just a pipe.

I'm gonna put it on axle stand tom and run the engine to see if I can see the leak. I really hope its omething simpe.........

Not sure how old the engine is, I have just bought the van. It didn't leak before its a 87' caravelle. With 225,000 miles on the clock. I'm going to run it tom night in the garage on axle stands and then see where the leak is coming from (the logical thing to do I guess !). Knowing my luck it will b...
