Solar panels....
For several years I had a 80w panel i'd attached to a "Westy" style luggage well (pop top) above the cab. This year I wanted to be able to use this well for carrying things and a touch of upgradeitus saw me buying a 120w semi flexible panel, This went on the "pop" top and is very...

Re: Fitting aaz
In my experience you can.. You need to clock the turbo so the drain is as close to bottom as possible. You then have to make a custom exhaust also... Easy if you have a welder.. Not if you don't. My engine was out of a fwd Passat. But I think different donor vehicles have different manifolds so .... !

Re: Removal of diesel tank breathers
When I first had my van, while chasing rust etc I took mine off to look behind . I broke one of the connectors. So I just cap-ed the tubes and left the tanks off. Diesel does not pressurise like petrol does. Also my fuel cap does not hold pressure so it's fine.

Re: Rear sits lower
Is it really saggy arsed or does it just look that way. The wheel arch gap front to rear is not the same as standard VW spec. The front wheel arch gap is larger making the vehicle look a*** down. This can look worse as the vehicle is lowered. After all from 10 foot away the difference of 100 and 80 ...

Re: Non VW: cleaning inlet manifold on Vauxhall 2.0DTi
This is the Vauxhall engine not the fiat engine. I had one for for years and although a bit noisy was really good on fuel, much better than my 1.9pd engine. I just spooned the crap out of the ports in the head, I think i even had a go burning some out. I wanted to wash out with petrol or something b...

Re: Prefab steel for isofix bolted to bottom seatbelt anchors
I fitted some mew focus ones, and bolted them direct to the hump behind the seat with large spreading washers on the out side. Our child seats reach no problem. I'm sure if you google focus front isofix you'll find the bits.

Re: Heater cable gone caput (II)
Just For your info You don't need to remove the dash to do the cable. You'll loose some skin and wish your hands where smaller but it can be done. I think it took me a few hours. Make sure you buy a new clip to hold the cable to the heater valve. Coz mile was S£ag^d.

As a quick fix have a try with autoglym bumper stuff. It's good at wetting plastic wing mirrors etx to bring them back from faded grey.

Re: AAZ rattling noise
mine had the bells !... basically it would resonate the heat guard between the inlet and exhaust manifolds and ring like a bell!.. Took ages to find because it only did it at at the right load. The AAz is not the most refined so it might just be your expectations. It could just be just be fuel timin...

Re: Rear Shocks
Well the Avo's have no gas pressure so when you push them in your feeling pure damping resistance and when you pull them out again pure damping resistance. If you try and compare by hand "gas pressured" vs "non gas pressured" even if the dampers have the same damping the gas pres...

Re: Bike rack recommendations...
Fitted a fiamma last year. Really happy with it. Extended it to take 4 bikes. Since it sits above the lights there is no need for extra lights or light board. Another plus is you can fit a box carrier thing to it. Or Bungy cord body boards to it etx. The down side is the cost. I could have bought a ...

Re: anyone dropped a perkins prima 2.0TD into a T25?
I asked because I had one (later incarnation) in a freelander that did 200k miles with no bother and later in an mg zs again no bother and remember them as the best engine the montego ever had.. But I'm now dreaming of being able to put the bits off a p38 range rover under a t25 with the exceptiona...

Bought one of eBay and fitted it my self. I'm in MK. Basically it's simple enought. Just need balls of steel when cutting a hole in the roof. Recommend buying a riv nut tool. The instructions are "pooh", but I was told they are all being redone. Ask for a copy!. We're really pleased with i...

Re: 1.9TDi conversion...why so costly?
I've done first a petrol to aaz and then a aaz to tdi conversion. The first to remember is the everything costs twice as much as you thought and takes twice as long as you think. As your on the job, gaskets oil pump, water pump, thermostat, timing belt, gallon of semi, antifreeze, bunch of stuff fro...
