Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
PROBLEM SOLVED!! Short circuit in The bridge rectifier. Not heat related but due to old age. A friend of mine has a pinball shop and has rectifiers in stock. Costs: 10 euro. He also told not to leave the zig on in mains if not needed. Ok. It will charge the leisure battery but it only needs to do th...

Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
Yep,
Nothing connected.
Even removed the 12v fuses just to make sure.
Personally I think that the trip should be more seen as a over current trip and that's why I think the trafo is broken.
Is there some way to measure this?

Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
Ok, I fitted a new thermal trip, the one of eBay as in the link. Closed type, as needed. 65 degrees Hooked up mains and turned the switch, and guess what, same problem. Clicks right away, How is this possible. Could it be the transfer itself that is broken. It wasn't on for a while so how can it bui...

Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
No part number Just saying G65 It clicks right away away when you turn on mains. Also when not used for a while so the transformer is not hot. If it clicks, it sparks, maybe that's is. I try to bend it a little and that seemed to help. That's why I think it can not really break. Just need to find ou...

Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
I opened the black thermal trip and hookup to mains. It clicks right away. Most likely it got so hot that it broke. If I bend it a little bit it seems to work but I'm not taking the risk. As mentioned in the manual about to much appliances attached that could be the reason. I hooked up an extra smal...

Re: ZIG plus LVD - question for electrical whizzes
Trafo? Are you talking about the transformer (that's the only bit that I can see is blue)? If so it looks like a resettable thermal fuse to me - not certain though. You would have to look at the circuit diagram. Yep the blue thingy is black on my transformer. It clicks but don't know why. If it's a...

Re: Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
When I'm on site and hooked up to mains the only things I use are the internal lights and water pump and sometimes I connect charger for mobile etc. So the zig is there for keeping the Leisure battery topped up yes. Last weekend I had an extra camping fridge wich I had left on too long . Normally I ...

Zig cf8 makes clicking noise
My zig cf8 makes clicking noises when hooked up on 240 mains.
But, when I pull out the 2amp fuse it stops clicking and everything still works fine.
The part that's clicking is the black plastic part soldered to the trafo inside the panel.
Any ideas what to do ?
