I was just removing the thermostat housing and when I took off a fabric coated pipe, which leads from the bleed screw at the top to the white tube that runs around the top of the engine bay, I found that it was completely bunged up with what looked like a dark brown clay. Thermostat Housing Part Number
Can anyone tell me the VW part number(s) for an early 1986 1.9DG Thermostat Housing (top and bottom and any gaskets). Unfortunately the chap at my local VW parts department is a little careless when determining part numbers and I would really like to be able to go to him with the definitive numbers....
