£33.68 with vat and postage from Seals Direct. That's half the price of the cheapest seal I could find that was in stock.
Cool Air was £65 inc P+P. I did find one from Megabug for £50, but they didn't have any in stock.

Engine bay seal
Just had the heads reconditioned on my vans 2.0cu engine, which required the engine to be dropped.
Had the van back from the garage and the engine bay seal has not been put back correctly and is damaged in areas.
Is the seal something that can be replaced with the engine in or is it a engine out job?

I presume the ford engine is watercooled?
If so, you will need to fit all new plumbing and radiator.

Re: Engine rebuild
The mechanic looked at the tappets first, so I presume that is not the issue.
I have tried ringing some local VW specialists, but can't get through on the phone.

Re: Engine rebuild
We are of to Cornwall, so its a 560 mile round trip.
I didn't want to do any more damage to the engine than necessary and thought that running on what is essentially 3 cylinders might to damage to the other cylinders?

Engine rebuild
I recently had my carbs rebuilt at Gasure and Steve made me aware that I had a compression issue. Since getting the van back home, I've had a compression test done and it is showing low compression on one of the cylinders and the mechanic has suggested that the cylinder may have burnt out. So, my qu...

Re: Petrol versus diesel?
Hi Guys, Delighted to be a new member and learning my way around. I am thinking about buying a 1986 T25 Westfalia Joker. It is listed as having a 1.9 petrol engine which surprised me as a newbee, I thought VW were always diesel. Will I be happy with this petrol engine? Any comments welcome. Thanks ...

Re: High top interior lighting
Hi As you can see, the space between the roof and the upstairs floor, is a great place to hide your lighting wires. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5503/11056825524_9a0a02becc.jpg I fitted these, bargain at £20. They run at 12v so you can cut the adaptor plug off and just wire into the leisure batter...

Re: High top interior lighting
You are about to be bombarded by people extolling the virtues of LED lighting. It does have it's place and from an electricity consumption perspective is second to none BUT it's limited in it's applications due to it's lack of 'spread' for want of a better word. The light is very direct; almost as ...

High top interior lighting
I am in the process of fitting a new interior to the camper and wasn't sure what to do about lighting. I am fitting a new carpeted plyboard ceiling panel and need to know what I'm doing about the lighting over the R&R bed area before I fit it. I could also do with seeing what some of you have do...
