I just ran a large cone filter, you can put it where you like then.
You can move the JX one I think, but if the battery is in the engine bay, I think it won't fit straight in.

Re: Is it a Syncro?
If the passenger side is on the left, ie a RHD van, the filler could be a water tank.
As said above, the fuel filler would be at the back on the right.
I guess if it isn't for sale, it makes no odds.

Re: Fuel Prices
It's up to 117.9 now for diesel. It costs me an extra £10+ a tank than last year. It's a bummer for small businesses. Any fuel cost gets passed on to the public & will push up inflation. Maybe that's what they want? It's the fuel price & house prices that caused our financial mess to start w...

Re: 14" TYRES AGAIN!
Get some 15" T4 steels machined up. They are cheap as chips. I have a pair of early T4 rims sat here you can have for free. (square hole type).
You will have a massive choice of tyres then.

Anyone need a fuel tank sender retaining ring?
I was looking for something in the garage today & found this: http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i104/aircooledtechnic/sales/DSC01167.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i104/aircooledtechnic/sales/DSC01168.jpg I bought one for my Diesel Syncro ages ago when I changed the sender unit. It's the ...

Re: Mud tyres and wheels
I have a pair of T4 steel wheels I don't need. They are the ET44 I think, the ones with the square holes in. They are in fairly good condition & only want a fiver each for them.
The centres will need to be machined to 68mm to fit a Syncro.

Re: Removing Starter on a Syncro.....
If that doesn't work, a small sharp chisel on the head of it will dig in & turn it. You can then bang the star in or use mole grips.

Re: Removing Starter on a Syncro.....
I fitted a new actuator a few days ago. You won't need to use any air to keep the actuator in postion as it will sit where you put it until you connect the air pipes & run the engine. Take note of which way the air pipes go on too. There is a circlip to remove before the 2 shackle bolts come off...

Re: Removing Starter on a Syncro.....
You need to drop the gearbox end of the drive shaft off to get those bolts out. Spray some wd40 onto the diff lock actuator & clamp some mole grips/vice grips on the bolts. They should come undone. I think they are M4 bolts. Anything would probably work, even a self tapper. It's only to stop the...

Re: Hello again
I had mine taken out to 68mm just to be sure. They fit fine.
it's the front that don't fit, but you will need all 4 done if you are going to rotate the wheels from hub to hub every 3000 miles or the rears won't fit the front.
Mine were £15 each to machine.

Maybe it's had another £500 of filler in it.
