Re: hydraulic bench press recommondations?

I would steer clear from a 6 ton one, I've had a few bearings done with a 10 ton press and they were tight.

Re: ABS Ring Removal. 2WD

I did use a little heat on the first one but reckoned I didn't need it and the rings are hard.

Re: ABS Ring Removal. 2WD

I used a 3 prong hub puller to remove the ABS rings. I had to put a small bit of 1/4" bar across the centre of the disc for the puller to rest against. They took a while to come off and i had to tap round them them with a hammer. The Abs rings came off straight with no warps and went onto the n...

Re: Rear brake imbalance - not balanced

The chamfer was that way round when I took off the old shoes. I can’t remember if the shoes were pagid or not but I do remember noticing that the fibre was shorter on the new ones.

Re: Rear brake imbalance - not balanced

I've just checked mine and the spring is not tight against the adjuster. I'm sure you have checked the photo's in the Wiki but here are some for reference that i have just taken of the nearside as i have just finished fitting new backplates. I also used Pagid cylinders. https://live.staticflickr.com...

Re: Rear brake imbalance - not balanced

Itchyfeet mentioned the flexi pipe sometimes collapsing acting as a way way valve if clamped. Have you checked that you haven’t nipped the copper pipe or damaged the end when connecting back up to the brake cylinder as this would give the same symptoms.

Re: Rear brake imbalance - not balanced

Have you checked that the near side handbrake cable hasn’t partially seized causing drag on the shoes. From what I’ve read if the hub / drum is getting that hot with no drag then I would suspect the wheel bearings.

Re: Testing DOPWS

I had the coolant sensor pop out after a partial rebuild and had used a plastic clip with an older sensor. I managed to find a metal clip and I've had no issues since.

Re: leisure batteries, solar and battery maintenance etc etc

I have a 100 watt flexi panel which I bought as a full kit from eBay mounted on the roof which charges 2 x 92 amp batteries. When on hook up I have a 10 amp CTEK charger to keep things topped up. With this setup i generally run a 23 litre compressor cooler, 6 LED Lights but not all at once, charge p...

Re: Air compressor

I bought one of these but with a 50 litre tank for £169. It easily runs my air saw, sanders, chisel and impact gun using an 8 mm airline which all require a relatively high air supply. It copes well for a low end compressor but you do notice a little drop in pressure when running it constantly which...

Re: 'pastel white' doesn't match - any suggestion??

I was under the impression that LD90 came in pastel white pre 1985 and arctic white post 1985 but this might be another urban myth.

If you think you have overfilled the system then it may be wise to drain off the oil to see by how much and refill with the correct amount.
