Re: RM212 fridge re-ignitor
A bit more googling answered my own question. In case it helps anyone else, it looks like a dometic model 679 will do the job, same layout of pins even. I've ordered one, about 80 quid, so hope it does the job!

RM212 fridge re-ignitor
My fridge re-ignitor has stopped working, it is a Vernitron 407/1/72669/210 and fridge is an RM212. They seem to be obsolete and unusually google isn't giving me any replacements, though lots of people seem to have had problems with them. Anyone know where replacements would be available from? I kno...

Re: Autosleeper RM212 fridge removal
Right, got the fridge out, it just needed a bit more of a pull.
In case it helps anyone in the future, there is a generous coil in the copper pipe to the valve at the top of the fridge, enough to pull it out far enough to access the nut on the connection.

Re: Autosleeper RM212 fridge removal
Yeah, found those screws. I think the flue is not solidly connected to the outside on this one, when you remove the outer grill part of the flue comes with it.
I can get about 1mm of movement, I'm just not keen on muscling it more in case something breaks.

Autosleeper RM212 fridge removal
Hi, igniter on my RM212 fridge has stopped working so I'd like to remove fridge it to check it out. Van is a 1990 Autosleeper. I've taken outer grill off, no obvious fridge fixings there. I've removed 2 screws from cupboard on left of fridge and 3 on the right. I know there is a solid gas line conne...

Bosch wiper blades with spoiler
I fitted a new wiper blade today with one of them new fangled spoilers on. The spoiler bit is below the blade the way it comes assembled from the factory, doesn't feel right to me, especially as half the spoiler is under the wiper arm. Is there a right and wrong way for these? I think the spoiler bi...

Re: Anyone used a maypole van cover?
Thanks for replies, I've ordered one, according to info it should fit. Probably the biggest benefit I see with a cover is protection from the sun, it trashes rubber and interiors over time. I do use the hidef wax as well after learning about it on here. I also understand what you mean about forgetti...

Anyone used a maypole van cover?
Hi, We need a new cover after the recent storm trashed our previous one. Last one was from JK but quality was not good, I've just found a Maypole MP6584 that says it is suitable for high tops (ours is an autosleeper trident), anyone used them or know if this will fit (it says height up to 68", ...

Thanks CS, I too am an Engineer, of the electrical variety, my thought processes seem to be on the same lines as yours. I think I'll let him crack on as proposed. Cheers, Bri

Another building type question for you
Hi All, I am having a porch built (215mm no-cavity walls, about 2700x1200 floor area, double pitch roof) which is tied into existing structure with firfix wall starters. Builder says OK to fix the 2 rafters against existing wall with hiltibolts or chemical anchors and do away with horizontal ceiling...

Re: Water tank drain tap help
Thanks Ian, 3/4 BSP sounds about right, they look pretty common so should get one no prob. Yeah, I think it has a nut on the inside of the tank, the whole thing spins in the tank (it is cracked where it enters the tank, but that doesn't show in the pic). Just hope there is an arm sized hole in the t...

Water tank drain tap help
Hi all, we managed to smash the drain tap on our water tank last time out (Mrs baj put a levelling chock in a dumb place and it flipped up). http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/baj25/DSC_0035%20-%20Copy.jpg It is on a 1990 autosleeper conversion. Can anyone recommend where to get one from (are th...

Re: fit a rev counter and temperature gauge and oil gauge t25 19
Early vans don't have the signal you need from the coil pre-wired up to the instruments, late ones are much easier as they do. A search here will find all the details. Hth, bri

Re: not vw -LED dimmers for mains
Inrush current into heating causing voltdrop? Low resistance when cold, increases when hot? I guess the electronics in domestic dimmer is going to be pretty crude so won't have cap to ride out the volt drop? Bri
