Removed the seam with a dremel narrow cutting wheel then blasted with 60-80 grit (tried blasting first but wouldn't shift the sealant). Hi, Just attempted my first seam! Got it raked out, cleaned, vatcan and tiger sealed. Rubbed the area around down with 1200 grits to get a key, primer on with a rattle can, light rub and then over with two coats of paint (Halfords VW Pastel White). Ha! I did think about it but just went for the really small dremel style cutting disks - it eats them though!

It's a lot tougher than I envisaged! Have resorted to the rotary tool and using that to get it out then blasting after, seems to be doing the trick. One seam open and now covered in vatcan. once dry I will re seal, prime and paint. Looks like a seam a day, gonna take a few weeks! MM - I'm using 60-8...

Sooo..... Nice sunny day, no camping plans - lets have a crack at the seams...... Got my brand new spot blasting gun out, taped the seams and have at it - however it takes the paint off both sides but just isn't getting into the old seam sealant? The gap is a lot narrower than I thought and the open...

Definitely soak them cap end screws, I rounded one and had a complete nightmare getting it out.

After mucking about with the power and feed I got it on, cheers for the advice, I'm off to find some scrap and practice!

Hi, I thought it was a nice day to go and do the rusty u channel on the sliding door. Got the old one off, flap disked the cill back to shiny metal, drilled the 6.5mm holes in the new bit and went to weld it... That where the problems start. Machine mart are running a 15% off deal at the mo on Clarke stuff so I'll probably go for this one. It states 14.5 Cfm, I am guessing that's displacement but I think that will be enough for the tools I want as they are all around the 8-9 Cfm Mark.
