High Biting point

Hi guys, Just a quick question. The vans biting point has always been pretty high and sometimes it feels after I have changed gear and taken my foot off the clutch that its still engaged and revs higher with not much movement. Yesterday, while in traffic lights on a hill, I was riding the clutch on ...

Re: Not running on Petrol

makes sense.. Borrowed one of those 6 in 1 halford chargers, so thats charging now, will give that a go.. The fact that there is a voltage drop when turning the key also suggests that the ignition switch is ok?? If no luck with battery charger, will clean up all connections by starter...Starter was ...

Re: Not running on Petrol

Connectors arrived from Brickwerks.. Plumped in, ignition on, switch to petrol on LPG controller, clicking noise. presume thats good. Check for leaks. All good. Turn to start the van, nothing, doesnt even turn over. 12.2v then 10.9 v when I go to crank. FFS. Only thing I have touched to stop it not ...

Re: Not running on Petrol

Basically you use the two wires off the petrol switch off solenoid to control a 4 pin 30amp auto relay for the fuel pump . Very simple . You can take the power from the alternator via the relay - happy to draw you a diagram if you need it The pump just needs two self tappers into the inner cill whe...

Re: Not running on Petrol

If you are lucky, just sucking petrol through it will get it working short term, until you have chance to diagnose it properly The best option is an electric pump and blank the mechanical pump port off . This also means you can do away with the petrol switch off solenoid and the electric pump will ...

Re: Not running on Petrol

The pump pushrod is driven directly off the cam, there is no “spring” in it, it only moves a tiny amount as well. The push rod should be 100mm long , any less, even 0.25mm will stop it working correctly . How long is it since it ran on petrol?? My money is on the pump diaphragm being goosed ?? Than...

Re: Not running on Petrol

Ok, yes so yours is the cheaper type with a lever under the solenoid, sorry i described the earlier type with a thumb wheel . That is the petrol switch , the lever overrides the electronic switching. If yours is the same as that picture then its after the mechanical pump , so if the pipe is dry the...
