As I have been working on it all day, and just found that out, I thought I had it fixed, put all my tools away, and gave it one more rev up before putting the lid on, away it went again, so I thrashed it up the road (frustration), as soon as I had it on the open road it went back to normal. I looked at that first, thinking that would be the obvious place to start, looks fine, also if it was the cable, why does it only happen when the engine is hot?

Could it be as simple as the return spring needing replaced with a stronger one, when it is revving high all I need to do is give the spring a little pull and it returns to normal, I have had the whole throttle mechanism off thinking the butterfly valve would need cleaned,so every thing is lubricate...

Engine revving to high when hot
HI, I have a a 1990 T25 2.1 injection, It runs like a dream on the open road, but as soon as you hit traffic in the city and have to stop and start, the engine revs uncontrollably and it gets very hot, has any one experienced this? if so what was the fault?

2ltr fuel injected air cooled HELP!!
Just bought a Westy 2ltr fuel injection, starts first turn, but after a few minuets ticking over when it is warmed up it cuts out and wont start again until it is cold.

Thanks for all your info, We have found the pin, no point in trying to remove it yet until we have the new part.
The code on the box is ALM 46168. with a separate A on it`s own.

I will check that out next, in the mean time can any one tell me where the headlight relay is? can`t find it on the transporter, but when I go to the Syncro there it is plain as day clicking away, maybe this won`t help?

I have checked the earths, all seem ok, when i switch lights to side, they are ok, when i switch to main, side`s are ok but no main until i pull the dip stalk up, then they come on full beam, but the really weird thing is I have no wipers or heater fan until the switch is on main beam and the stalk ...
