Side panel replacement - any good guidance out there?

I need to replace some panels, the worst of which is the drivers side centre panel from the waistline down. I got some quotes but was wondering if i can do it myself with my fairly limited welding skills. I've searched around to see if there's any videos or guides but couldn't see anything. If anyon...

Re: Help finding the name of a part

Great!

I'll have a look and come back to you. I might need to remove some of interior to get a proper look/photo.

My van is 1984 and is all early bits if that helps?

Help finding the name of a part

In the first photo below, I have tried to show where I have dented the side of my van. I can get a new panel easily enough but there's a section of metal that the panel is spot welded to on the inside which is also deformed. I've no idea what this is called or if replacements are available. having a...

Re: New interior ideas wanted

Hi Andy,

If they're genuine leisuredrive (I'm not 100% sure) and they are compatible with your van, you can have them. I'm not planning on starting this until I have a really good idea/plan for the design though so it might be a while before they're available.

New interior ideas wanted

I'd like to make a custom interior for my van. I've just built our kitchen from 18mm birch-faced ply and would like something similar to go in the van, probably a mix of 12mm and 18mm though. We have a poptop and what I think is a Leisuredrive interior with a Rusty Lee 3/4 bed. It has served us well...

MOT time - fluctuating brakes question

On my last MOT, I had advisories on fluctuating rear brakes. The problem is that they were all new - drums, shoes, hydraulic cylinders.

In the absence of worn out parts, what could cause that to happen?

Thanks

Subaru conversion electrics - how do I???

Hopefully this makes some kind of sense My new loom from Felllows doesn't have any wiring on it for the coolant level sensor or the alternator. None of these connections go into the subaru ecu so in theory it should be relatively easy to add in a little subharness (I really, really hope). My old con...

Subaru idle problem (EJ20 in a T25)

Hi, Apologies for the long, probably rambling post. I have a my2000 EJ20 (MAP configuration) in a 1984 VW T25. Conversion parts were from RJES and engine and loom were from Nick Tune. I've had some idle issues for a while - have tried previous suggestions to fix them but it's gotten worse lately and...

Re: Garage for Subaru conversion in Manchester or North West?

Stef at Mac VW in Stretford does drive in/out subaru conversions.

He's always pretty busy though so you may need to wait a while before he could do it. Phone and ask him?

Re: subaru engine

It's a marvelous idea. So good that I did it with virtually no previous spannering experience behind me. . If you go the RJES conversion kit route, it's pretty straightforward. I guess the main thing to get right is the donor engine. I put a 2.0L NA engine in and it's definitely quick enough for my ...

Yaay, they're there. Viking hinges no less. £12 postage though - Jeepers, that's steep!!!

Side elevating pop top roof hinges - where to buy?

One of the hinges on my poptop roof has come away from the gutter rail where it was riveted in. I found them online a few years back but can't seem to find any now. It's a leisure drive roof (I think) with a devon-style canvas in it. The hinges have a weird off set on them that allows them to be fix...

A couple of scooby queries

My ej20 conversion is running nicely, but I've noticed over the last few days that when I set off from cold, the engine revs increase without pressing the accelerator when the clutch is pressed in. It also idles faster than normal too, It stops after a little while, but I'm certain it didn't do that...

Re: runs 4 seconds and dies, unless using carb cleaner !

I had this problem a while ago. The cheapy fuel pump I bought from GSF just wasn't up to the job (mainly because I dropped it onto the ground before I fitted it). It still made all the right noises and sounded like it was priming etc, but the engine would not fire unless i chucked some petrol direct...
