Re: Engine misfires
Hi, thanks for your replies. It runs fine until it is warm and the choke opens (closes?), after which it judders when at constant speed (whatever the speed). I have checked dist cap and plugs and am now thinking it is a fuel thing. I will start with fuel filters as you suggest.

Hi, my 1990 1.9 petrol misfires when accelerator is "feathered". It ticks over fine and is ok under hard acceleration, it is only under cruising conditions it has a problem. Not sure where to start looking; fuel or electrics? Thanks

Hi I am thinking of buying a 3 berth tent (well actually named a six berth, but I think thats 6 hobbits) because I cant get an awning big enough for 2 teenage kids that dont get on, but I dont want to get conned into paying for two pitches i.e. van and tent! My 1.9 H Reg runs Ok but the temp guage reads just above the white on the left - it used to read just to the left of the red light until a few months ago. The rad fan kicks in when its needed and the heater works fine. I have replaced both the stat and ...

Arvi Turning the heater off only slightly increses the temp teading. But then turning it back on and the temp drops into the cold part of the guage. I have put a new VW stat in and at first it seemed to improve but now its back to where it was ie just out of the cold part of the guage. All component...

Have I got a radiator problem
Hi My van (1.9 1990) has always run at normal temp with the guage reading in the middle. For the last few weeks it has been running cold with the needle just above the cold (white) area on the guage. There has also been a small water leak from the thermostat cover. I removed the thermostat and teste...
