the engine is a CU and the vac unit has 2 take off points, one of on outer cone shaped bit and the other on the inside pointing towards the dizzy. left hand bank of carbs. choose one to connect to I assumed i would conect to the one that isnt on the other carb. Are you meaning the pair that is at the base of each carb. Testing the vac unit, from wiki (suck on it - arm/plate should move. Then stick your tongue in the hole at end of a good suck...

Hi all,
Is it possible to instal a air blower unit in place of the original (non air blowing at all) type?
only asking as after fighting with the dash, i have found that i have the old style and would really like to see the newer one in its place.

:D Theres life, and it soubds like a different van. i have the correct jets, only had to replace 1. vacume take offs went on fine and the slimmer filters fit. Mixture skews are at 5 tunes out, how do i go about finding the correct position? Also, is there a left and a right carb, as my vac adv is on...
