Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Thanks for the photos. Is that rod metal? Any idea what it's for? I have a home-made housing, but I don't recall seeing that rod on a genuine housing that I had in recently. The company I've been using for PCBs is JLCBCP . I can't speak highly enough of them - always prompt service and good quality....

Re: Dash Oil Pressure Faintly Lit
Here's the schematic for the battery light. http://www.cjh.me.uk/MyPhotobucket/cache/T25/Dash%20PCB/Battery%20light%20schematic_128.jpg If the IGNITION and ALTERNATOR are at the same potential, the light should go out. Could the greater resistance in the alternator exciter wire cause enough of a pot...

Re: Dash Oil Pressure Faintly Lit
Hmm - I need to get to the bottom of this. Similar issue here . I suspect that the red LEDs I'm supplying are just far more sensitive than the originals, and that they glow due to a very low residual current in that circuit. My own dash did the same with my prototype board, but a bigger resistor in ...

Yes please - a photo would be useful.

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
We have selected the two red LEDs for the battery & oil lamps and these are pretty bright in the current murky weather. However, you do need to notice them if they come on, even in the brightest conditions, so should be fine in normal use. Chris , I have taken several photos of the back of the ...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
How do I order one of these kits... Send me a PM. The options are: 1) A 'bag of bits' for self-assembly. £30, including first class postage within the UK. Postage elsewhere may cost a little more. Requires basic soldering skills. 2) A 'built-to-order' board, for those who prefer not to tackle the s...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Version 0.4 is still the most up-to-date version that I have. But it does need some additions (mostly around the DOPS option) and some corrections as spotted by various kind people. While I'm still working on an update to the guide, I thought it might be useful to show the details of the DOPS optio...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Too many Takeaways Chris ??? :) You're not making any sense - how can you have "too many takeaways" :rofl I use those trays for posting out the built-to-order kits, to protect the LEDs. I'll run out eventually though, as my previous curry place has closed, and the one I use now uses foil ...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
I made up enough kits at the weekend to clear the backlog and put a couple on the shelf. Unfortunately, as I was finishing them off this evening I ran out of the Dupont ribbon cable assemblies for the DOPS/clock/tacho connections, so I was only able to fully complete three of the kits - it'll take a...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Yep - still doing them. Work is currently leaving me with little time to work on them other than at the weekends, so apologies to anyone still waiting - should catch up this weekend.
