Re: ARB or Fiamna awning?
Fiamma F35 takes my vote. Good strong cartridge and all has worked faultlessly on every trip. However, mine does pop out a little at one end when wound in, but I think this is just down to adjustment (I really need to take a look at that), but nothing a velcro strap wouldn't sort out. As far as Fia...

Prestone coolant / antifreeze
Hello, I've been a bit quiet on here recently but have been keeping an eye a few threads. I've had a read of the wiki on coolant, however I would like some advice, as I have replaced the radiator thermo switch and now need to top up the coolant. Does anyone know if it is OK to use Prestone coolant/a...

Re: Broken down - Urgent garage recommendation in/near Bodmin
The RAC arrived and confirmed that the water pump is seized so it will be trailered to Trevor Giles tomorrow morning, hopefully there's nothing serious like the head gaskets. We're due to head back home to East Hampshire on Saturday so I'm praying for a quick (and relatively cheap) fix.

Re: Broken down - Urgent garage recommendation in/near Bodmin
Staying in Redmoor means no mobile signal and the WiFi is only running at 20-100kbps! I had to use Three's VoIP service and not surprisingly the call quality is poor with 2-3 second delay.

Re: Broken down - Urgent garage recommendation in/near Bodmin
Thanks, I got hold of Trevor and I'll get the van towed there if it needs a garage to fix.

Broken down - Urgent garage recommendation in/near Bodmin
I'm on holiday just outside Bodmin and my alternator/water pump belt has snapped, hopefully not due to a seized pump.
The breakdown service should be here by 6pm, in case it needs to be taken to a garage can someone give me a recommendation?

Re: Webasto fuel pump
It's a bin job - the final attempt at fixing is a belt with a sledge hammer, if that doesn't free it (if it is stuck) you can have the satisfaction of beating the living daylights out of it with the sledge hammer. Thanks for the quick reply. I've installed a new replacement and that works a treat, ...

Thanks, I've fitted a new one and the heater fires up nicely (after I had also replaced the exhaust hose).
It would be good to have spare if I can fix the old one.

Webasto fuel pump
I've a duff Webasto fuel pump and have taken the ends off to see if it can be fixed, however it seems to be a sealed unit.
Does anyone know how they come apart and it is worth attempting a fix or should I just bin it?

Re: Ham Radio Antenna Mounting
I had a look earlier and it seems that it might be best to run it down the recess of the door frame and then bring it inside at the bottom rear of the door. I need to get a few bits and bobs sorted for the MOT which is booked for next week (both the T3 & the Touran), so I'll look at fitting an a...

Re: Ham Radio Antenna Mounting
Thanks ghost123uk, Could you post up a close up photo or 2 of the cable routing from outside to inside? I'll have a look tonight when home from work but if my memory serves me correct, the door has a rather sharp edge on it and I was worried about damaging the coax when the door is repeatedly opened...

Ham Radio Antenna Mounting
Hello, At the end of last year I passed my amateur radio foundation and last week my intermediate exams (along with my 2 sons) and want to get out and about with the radio so I've been trying to work out where to fit an antenna mount for a transceiver on my LHD poptop T3 and I can't work out the bes...

Re: Gas connector to a westie stove & fridge
I think what you need is a gas hose with an R1/4 connector. I spent ages hunting one down and got it from this site http://destillatio.shopgate.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I don't think they are available anymore. Also it wasn't cheap at £20 with the postage, al...

Re: what gas adapter/regulator do I need*what HOSE DO I NEED ?*
That might be an "R1/4" fitting, but I'm not 100%. I bought my first camper just before Christmas and it had a westy interior but no 50mb regulator. I find one on Amazon but it had an "R1/4" connector and eventually I found a hose in Germany with that fitting on. The cooker now s...

Re: Replacing Syncro ARB upper drop link bushes
Thanks, the chassis mounts look fairly new, so I'll leave those and get the softer Syncro bushes where available. There is a member offer running until Wednesday which I intend to take up.
