turns out to be the dizzy and its only 5 months old and done about 500 miles at the most its a empi 009 anyone else had trouble with these :?: :?:

not starting

hi help needed im having trouble starting my van at first I thought this to be a fuel problem but have eliminated that the van will sometimes start and run for about 15 seconds then dies when ive then checked for sparks from ht/coil nothing but abit later it will fire up again any suggestions it has...

well still not sorted van will fire up but after ten seconds or so dies fuel pump is ok as there is petrol there any suggestions please :?:

cheers shall check it tomorrow just hope it dont rain theres no smell of petrol in engine bay so im thinking its the pump :?:

its a 2 ltr air cooled 1982 with a mechanical pump when I started it up there was a noise but I thought it was the tappets as it had been stood a few weeks

fuel problem?

hi all ive been working away and the van has only been started a few times well back now and started the van a few strange noises but started ok ran for 5 minuets or so but now when starting fires up for a few seconds then dies thinking this could be fuel pump ? any other thoughts will help cheers :?:

temperature

hi all, im wanting to fit a temperature warning unit,the lads at work can make up the cable and sender bulb also a digital read out and 12 volt buzzer [audio warning] just want to know the best place to position the thermo bulb and normal running temp any help /suggestions welcome cheers :ok

yep mine was the same,brought her home and the next day drove 5 yards , stopped and refused to start mind of their own these and always one step ahead :D

cheers for the help lads will be doing the job myselve keep you informed its not a bad leak and been told its norm for these vans working away down near Eastbourne next week so will have to do them later; :ok

hope your sorted need mine doing next had some horrendous quotes so looks trying my hand looked it up on wiki link and seems ok but do the heads need to come off as im hearing two different tales keep smiling one day it will be worth it :ok

hi all but I also have a slight leak from the clutch cylinder drips down onto the pedals is this a new cylinder needed or can they be fixed? how you getting on with yours Gordie?
