Thanks Very much for info, thought this might have been the issue my van already has a heavy plastic box like tray to get the height correct for the rock and roll bed, was considering increasing height of engine bay and doing away with the tray.
So the engine won’t fit my air cooled bell housing?

Contemplating a 1.9 tdi conversion
I’m considering converting my 2.0cu to 1.9 tdi.
Only because I’ve acquired a free golf.
What’s the reason for the engine to be mounted on its side??
Is it due to bell housing lining up or clearance??

Re: Window rubbers
The 25 are really expensive. It's the ones on the cab doors that the glass moves up and down in. Might have been Facebook I saw it on?? Would be good to find a cheaper alternative

Re: Cu to ct
Thanks for all inputs guys. They are not twin 40 carbs just the webber single chokes which seem a popular conversion in most of the brochures. I have a very good contact which has always set my carbs up on all my other cars but can't do the actual jetting of the carbs can any make any recommendations

Recently purchased my first van and whilst I didn't expect good fuel consumption from it I did expect a little better than I got on my first big run to bug jam at the weekend. It only has a range of 230 miles to a full tank. It running twin carbs empi manifolds and webber single chokes. I had them s...
