Hi,
Looking for a recommendation of a garage or garages to work on the Air Cooled CU 2.0l T25.
Have heated changers to swap as they are cracked.
Oil leaks to resolve and an MOT on July.
Any pointers greatly appreciated,
Leonard

None-factory fitted sliding door window question
OK, Our van is a panel to camper conversion, While driving, the window in the sliding door seems to move around enough to make an annoying flapping noise :-( if the window has pressure applied by a passenger, the movement and noise stops; so I'm assuming the rubber is flexing, What is available to p...

Re: reconnecting heater flap cables
Just the advice I needed, thanks chaps.
I will report back with my progress, I'll take plenty of photos (I always do), and if helpful write a wiki for changing the cables.

Re: reconnecting heater flap cables
In my experience cables are stiff enough to just be pushed through, particularly if existing cables (although short) still move in the sleeves. Plenty of grease and gently feed them through. The other trick is to chock-bloc the remaining cable to extend them to pods. All bug owners know this one. T...

reconnecting heater flap cables
Hello Guys, OK - please do let me know if this has been discussed is documented elsewhere. Today I've found that our 2L Aircooled heater cables, leading to the pods, have been cut just short of the pod arms. I knew the control lever was not opening or closing the flaps, but assumed there were no cab...

Re: Early Dash Instrument Question
if I simply swap the two dials over, will there be any issues with tHe old dial's temp needle and warning light circuitry not being connected to anything? They are probably not connected anyway. Good point, the temp warning bulb is, as it flashes at me when the ignition is turned. I'm going to try ...

Re: Early Dash Instrument Question
Thank you Bigherb, I have bought an early right hand side gage (fuel only) to replace the later water cooled version. I've taken the instrument panel off the dash. if I simply swap the two dials over, will there be any issues with tHe old dial's temp needle and warning light circuitry not being conn...

Re: Which gear should I be in?
Our issues were compounded by a bad HT lead and other engine issues.
Also found the heat exchanger pod flaps are cable tied open, the pull wires have been cut right at he ends (for some unknown reason).
ones warmed up, it now drives nicely
Thanks for your help.

Early Dash Instrument Question
Hopefully quick one guys, Please can you confirm whether the early (81) 2L CU Vans had an handbrake light on the dash? I believe ours has been changed at some point leaving me with a Handbrake lens but no board/wires behind and no switch at the hand brake lever. We also have a temp gage, which doesn...

Re: Gear shift part idenification (leading over the Petrol tank)
Hello James, Right you are, At the time of originally reading your response I hadn't/couldn't visulise what was in above the tank. Now that I have re-read your post it all makes sense, thank you for the information. As per my last post the unavailable grommet has completely gone :? Now looking for a...

Re: Gear shift part idenification (leading over the Petrol tank)
Hi guys, We spent a bit of time under the van today to pin down the nasty skretching noise when selecting gears. These's a supporting flange for the rod, right above the fuel tank. I'm unable to get to it (it's out of reach) but I can see the grommet for the rod as completely broken down and has dro...

I will take a look to see what it happening under my Van over the weekend.
If between up we can work out a substitute part for No 10, then we'll all benefit.
