Re: Grrrrrr Starter still playing up !!

Hi I know you said that you have checked the battery, have you checked the resistance of the earth strap from battery to earth. My, admittedly older van had this problem and replacing the earth strap and getting a good shiny earth cured it. Also when the new starter was fitted was the bush in the b...

Re: Grrrrrr Starter still playing up !!

Thanks for advice - I think it's well worth changing the ignition switch anyway to eliminate the possibility it is this thats causing the problem.

Grrrrrr Starter still playing up !!

Still having problems with starter - usual thing - all clicks and whirls etc you expect to hear but won't turn over . Checked battery ( fine ) , new starter motor fitted last year and created a new earth in engine bay at the same time. Originally played up after I bought van but after new starter mo...

starting problem

I've had my van ( 89 watercooled 2.1 ) under a cover ( outside on drive ) for 6 weeks or so. Every couple of weeks I've started it up ( always first turn of the engine ) and left it for ten minutes or so. Before now never had a problem but today it started as usual but needed a bit of accelerator pu...

Engine Number

I'm filling all the forms out to get an agreed value and I have to quote the engine number. My van had a new engine fitted in 2005 so it is not the original number quoted on the log book. Where can I find the number on the "new" engine? Am I supposed to tell the DVLA ?

steering wheel cover

Is there such a cover that fits a T25 steering wheel ? Presumably ordinary car ones are too small?

Had exactly the same problem! Messed about for ages trying to clean connectors etc but gave up in the end and replaced the starter motor and bush. Also made a new earth from chassis to engine. Apparently nine times out of ten its the solenoid attached to the starter! When we got the motor off we fou...

Where's the best place to get a set of curtains? Found a website called Fabcab - anyone used them? I'm always nervous about buying over the net!

Can't get me wheels off!!!!!!

Finally got the starting problem resolved ( hopefully ! ) after fitting a new starter motor and an additional earth to the engine. Whilst doing this I found I couldn't budge the wheelnuts either on the wheel I wanted to remove or any of the others! Whoever has tightened them up must have bust a gut ...
