AAZ oil pressure problem
Was driving home from Norwich last night in the horrible weather and noticed the oil warning light had come on. So I pulled over into a garage, but noticed as soon as the engine goes to idle the light goes out. If I rev it the light glows brighter. It's an AAZ engine with an oil pressure sensor in t...

Re: AAZ intercooler
Here's the intercooler I'm using, it's even got the pipes pointing the right direction towards the turbo on the engine. I'll Post more photos once the new inlet manifold is on and I've got some of the pipe work modified. http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t565/atomicwedgey/Komet/07CA48FE-12B8-4991-...

Re: Custom ISOFIX front middle seat?
This is on my project list as well as we have a toddler and bought a T25 autosleeper Komet in August. I've looked at selling the passenger swivel seat and fitting an LDV Twin seat setup as these have a 3 point seat belt on the centre seat and you can use the existing seat belt for the outer seat. Th...

Re: AAZ intercooler
Managed to source an AAZ Inlet manifold from a member of this forum, which will hopefully arrive today or tomorrow. Then its time to find some flexi pipe and some stainless bends from work so i can crack on with the inlet pipework mods.

Re: AAZ intercooler
There will be alot of plumbing involved in this idea as the cooler needs to go after the turbo before the inlet. I would put it ahead of the engine with possibly an aluminium scoop to funnel air through it from under the van. This way the turbo Output hasnt got so far to go neither has the tubing t...

Re: AAZ intercooler
The cooler from a rover 400 TD is a nice shape about 40 cm long 8 cm thick and 13 cm wide. I used one on an ldv pilot that I turbo'd and intercooled. Nice one. I've found an intercooler off eBay and it got delivered today, it's from a Vauxhall Zafira. I'm planning on designing a housing for the int...

Re: Heater plug problems and rear lights
Finally got some photos of the wiring. The original black box wiring still needs sorting out so i can get the front on, but the pix show the new box on the right. http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t565/atomicwedgey/Komet/photo3_zps7b75a06f.jpg http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t565/atomicwedgey/...

AAZ intercooler
My T25 has got an AAZ fitted and I'm thinking of fitting an intercooler. Has anyone got any experience on fitting one in a T25 engine bay. I've changed the normal air filter for a K&n cone type filter which now gives me loads more room to fit one right next to the turbo. Hopefully it will get en...

Re: Heater plug problems and rear lights
I've seen reference made to the earth crowns on a few threads now and purely out of curiosity I wondered if anyone would tell me exactly where they are, and if they are accessible with the dash still in-situ? My van is an LHD 1983 1.9 Petrol Westy btw. The crowns are located behind the fuse box in ...

Re: Heater plug problems and rear lights
Another update. After spending a while at the auto electricians the work is finally complete. I still have to sort out neatening up the normal black box wiring but all of the high amp leads are no housed in their own enclosure. This will reduce the chance of a fire in the normal black box and also c...

Re: AAZ breather pipe connection
Not related to your original question, but I've noticed that your cam belt doesn't appear to have a cover. Any bit of debris flying around (or a finger!) could get under the belt and break it or knock it off. In either case that's the end of your engine, (and your finger, perhaps). Yeah good point,...

Re: AAZ breather pipe connection
Not best practice to use the JX inlet manifold on the aaz lump mate, inlet ports are totaly diferent. I would try to get hold of an AAZ inlet manifold, and it hasnt got the blow off valve. I have only just bought the camper and I'm slowly going through everything and checking. Not got much experien...

Re: AAZ breather pipe connection
That is the blow out from the safety valve on the manifold. I.e if you get to high turbo pressure, and the waste gate can't regulate it then will the valve open. Normal opening pressure is about 1 bar and normal turbocharger pressure about 0,7 bar. So the answer to the question is that the connecti...

AAZ breather pipe connection
I'm a bit confused as to what the connection in the photo with the red arrow should be connected to? Can anyone help? I am also assuming i have an AAZ as i have only just bought this lovely Komet. :) It seems to have a 1.6td JX fuel pump as well. I'll post more photos of it shortly. http://i1314.pho...
