Re: Westfalia fridge seal
I appreciate that this is now a 5yr old post, but did you, or anyone else sort out a replacement/alternative seal for the westy fridge? I've been scouting the inter web and found very little about the seals, but I'm pretty sure my seal only touches a few posts of the fridge and asked all that lovely...

Re: 2.1 DJ judder at 2k RPM and 20mph
I cleaned the earth's on the LHS of the engine bay last night, a wee bit of tarnish, but not much in corrosion. Drive it this morning and I noticed a little bit of difference, but not entirely. I'll look at the AFM connections, next. This evening I went and changed the fuel filter, as I had it lying...

Oh, earthing is in interesting side track which I hadn't considered.
I'll give that a look over this evening, thanks @silverbullet

2.1 DJ judder at 2k RPM and 20mph
Hi All Hoping I can lean on similar experiences from others onto he forum. My '86 2.1DJ westy Joker is a daily driver and has always had a slight judder or 'bunny hop' effect when driving in higher gears (typically 2nd gear). I've always treated it as one of those classic car things and a bit of clu...

Re: Electrolux RM 184 cooling fan
Thanks OBG I used the camper this week, using the fridge on 240 after having installed a working element, and the fan wasn't going off any where near as much. Could be the outside temperature, could be the fact that I'm not burning gas... I'll keep the switch as it is, and maybe look into new fans r...

Re: Electrolux RM 184 cooling fan
The fan that I replaced was original and is part of the original spec. I made sure that the replacement fans blow across the back of the fridge fins, and the other out of the vent. The thermostat I don't think is adjustable, what would one of these look like? I may get a temperature sensor and stick...

Electrolux RM 184 cooling fan
Hey guys, I've been using the fridge in my 85 westy whilst camping and recently the fan started making noise, and was on all the time. It eventually dropped down to going on/off every minute or two over night. I assumed this was due to the hot weekend/cooler night we had so didn't think too much of ...

Re: Child seats
Hi All If anyone could share a bit of advice I'd appreciate it. After reading some of the posts about fitting the ford focus ISOfix bracket, I went and bought and fitted one to my Westfalia poptop. However, I've found that the bracket sits much lower than the seat base cushion, which is a) a struggl...

Pop Top re-trim / insulation
Hi All Tried to do a bit of research but come up short on this, so sorry if there is already a similar thread that I've missed. A while back, My Westfalia pop-top canvas got wet which resulted in mould on the fabric which spread to the flocking on the roof. The mould has been killed, but it's left a...

Electrolux RM184 240v heater element alternative
Hi all Hoping someone may be able to give me a bit of advice, I've identified that the 240V heater element on my Westie's fridge isn't working so I'm looking at sourcing a replacement. I've only been able to find one and it's on e-bay (https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co...

Re: Cleaning pop top roof / canvas with RugDoctor
Thanks chaps, I've ordered some mudbuster (was only £10 so worth a go..) and failing that I will give the mold cleaner a go again.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Cleaning pop top roof / canvas with RugDoctor
Hi chaps Has anyone tried the above. I had a mould problem caused by the pop top not being tucked away, getting wet and then (stupidly) tucked back in. This made the fabric and the roof lining get mould spores. I've 'cleaned' all the mould to stop it from growing any more, and it's fine other than t...

Re: External Vents on Westy Joker
At least I'm not alone.
My westy was originally from France, thought it may have been a French regulation or something.
Where did you get your replacements from Craig?

External Vents on Westy Joker
Hi all Has anyone seen external vents that are additional (and much bigger) than the Fridge exhaust vent? I have two (one under the fridge vent, the other behind the sliding door) on my van and I am unable to find anything to replace them. I'm feeling I may need to resort to making them, but would r...

Re: Digital Idle Stabilizer Control Unit
I had a look last night and noticed that the plugs that look like they go to the control unit are just plugged straight into one another, I didn't have time to play too much and was on an eber diagnosis mission so didn't try to plug in the control unit. I will do that tonight and see what happens.. ...
