Re: HELP! Please everyone read this !!!

Great site & club and happy to donate (doesn't hurt to exceed our target if we've already got there this time round)

Captains chair workaround

Great little tip posted a few years ago that I've only just discovered: passenger seat can be easily removed from its runner and rotated 180 degrees, to make a very useful additional seat when camping, without the need for a captains chair mechanism. Thanks to the previous posting/80-90 member for t...

Re: Bad starting after a long period

I've got a similar issue, but thinking it may be due to hydraulic lifters draining down when left for a prolonged period. I've left the van for a couple of weeks then opened up the Solex carb, which still had plenty of fuel in the bowl. But when the van is left standing then needs longer cranking to...

Snapped & recessed bolt removal: video

Lot of nonsense on YouTube, but I found this snapped & recessed bolt removal video seemingly genuine and particularly helpful:

Intermittent brake lights - sorted

Just sharing how I resolved intermittent brake lights, in case it helps others. This came about as I recently tested all lights before the MOT (all working), drove straight to the MOT - where the brake lights did not work. Tester then drove the van straight onto the ramp for the rest of the MOT - br...

Re: DF thermostat, where are you?

Earth crowns do sound like the right place to start with this issue, as well as fuses. A single brown cable connects to engine temperature sender on the engine (circled in red), close to where your coolant expansion tank is in your photo. Pull the single spade connector off the sender and ground it ...

Pop! Gas hob noise when turned off

Hi all We have a Fellows 2 burner hob and grille in our Devon. When you turn either hob off there is a sputtering noise followed by a 'pop' sound. It's always done it in many years of van ownership, the burner caps don't seem to readily come off (like the home cooker ones) for a quick inspection. I ...

Re: 'Coolant shortage indicator' (low coolant level circuit)

Thanks to all that replied - excellent level of detail there, much appreciated.  Aside from a leaky sensor, checks show that the relay is also likely to be at fault - unfortunately also currently not in stock at BW or other usual stockists Mocki, thanks for your sensor stock info: I have the push on...

'Coolant shortage indicator' (low coolant level circuit)

Morning all, hope we've been enjoying the Bank Holiday sunshine? I have a slight weep on the above sensor (through the terminals) in the pressurised coolant tank. Whilst waiting for Brickwerks to restock the sensor, I've had a checkthrough the rest of the circuit to ensure it works, as I'm always on...

Re: Diesel Resonance at specific RPM range

I do like a happy ending to a noise/rattle/squeek story, goodness knows we've got enough of them and its always good to investigate for peace of mind and to hopefully nip any issues in the bud. Plus its good therapy to share on here, sometimes our partners/passengers don't understand the angst of ho...
