Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Hi Guys, Just a wee update. I did as was suggested and sent pics to elite. Due to the distance they have told me to take the van into a local garage and if the leak is from the flywheel oil seal they will pay the garage for the repair. I cant ask fairer than that. Credit where credit is due. The loc...

Re: 14 pin connector dash panel insert

I agree Midlifecrisis. I think you need to trace the green yellow and see where it ends up. That would take care of position 2, 5 and 12. Kennie Pos 1 is def vacant so no wire there. 4 down 10 to go. I have traced some of the wires to so maybe this will help. No 3 Grey blue should go to the bottom c...

Re: 14 pin connector dash panel insert

Me again :) Just looked closer at pics and see the track seems broken at 2 and 5 at connector end. These are the earths so i would check that first. Also have you put in a new voltage regulator? The replacement ones you get now need to be fitted upside down to match the in and out of the original. G...

Re: 14 pin connector dash panel insert

Hi Kennie, Your dash looks the exact same as mine. The wiring colours i gave you work on mine although there are a couple of differences from the diagram. Do any of the systems work when you hook it up? I think you may need to test the voltages going to the various connector points and also test the...

Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Thanks 300CE. That sounds not so bad. The distance is the problem here i reckon. I will speak to elite and see what they say before doing anything. I thought at the time is this a good idea essex to glasgow but i just hoped everything would be ok on the new one. Och well no good crying over spilled ...

Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Got it from Elite. Who i have read mixed reviews about. It was a bare engine and needed all the bits from my old engine putting back on it. Unfortunately thats all i know. I bought the engine and got someone to put it in so really dont know about the flywheel. I do know that their was no leak on the...

Re: 14 pin connector dash panel insert

Can you post a pic of the dash panel and the pcb. Might get some clues from that. My 1984 dash dosnt have a clock or rev counter. It only has speedo temp and fuel gauges.

Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Had a sniff and it def smells like ordinary oil to me. Also tried a wee sniff of some brake n clutch fluid so if gearbox oil smells anything like that then thats not it. There is no chance i can take gearbox off so need to get her to a man that can. :( Coffee time!! All that oil has gone straight to...

Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Hiya got the pics. Just got a horrible feeling on closer inspection that this is not a quick fix job :( Would be grateful if anyone could let me know whats involved with the crankshaft seal replacement as i think this might be the culprit. http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b558/Bluebell65/2013-09-...

Re: Engine oil leak I think?

Thanks 300CE and Itchyfeet. The clutch is fine though the gear selection is a bit sticky for reverse. I put a board down yesterday so i will post pics later of the area and how much oil im loosing in a day. I felt all round the switch and it was oil free. Am i looking at a big job to get this sorted...
