Re: Glasgow Area folks
There are loads of us in Glasgow with rusty (and some with not so rusty) vans...there are a few local and a wee bit further afield businesses, and also some other owners/club members who can help with small and big jobs on your van. Click on the link in my sig and ask on there/check the recommended ...

Re: First time newbie with electric hookup
Rather than risk it, take a normal household charger and a bedside lamp.
Sussing anything else to give surefire advice will be too hard without seeing (and checking) your set up. Pics of your batteries at least may help some?

Re: 1.6d fuel issues :(
Update, the pump has been checked (pressure tested?) and it's working fine. The mechanic thought maybe the tank somehow was creating a vacuum, but all vents etc checked and all appear to be doing as they are designed to. All pipes checked too, and nothing appears to be amiss (most replaced when new ...

1.6d fuel issues :(
Couple of weeks ago, had an issue where the van wouldn't start. New fuel tank fitted a few weeks before, and van had been running fine, used most days and was ok the previous day to failing...until the day I was taking to get its MOT!!! had a mate/mechanic/t25 owner come round and looked like the di...

Re: Check your lights
The Qashqai we have has auto everything including brakes...But the lights catch me out if they get put on manual. It has permanent LED running lights on that are nearly as bright as my campervans headlight as I can testify driving to Tesco with just the running lights  Have exact same issue o...

Re: Blue coolant goes in tank. Orange coolant falls on road.
Thanks everyone! Some 2 part epoxy on the header tank crack got us to Norfolk (for a stunning weekend) and back without any leakage, and I'm now taking some deep breaths before changing, flushing and refilling. I did exact same first time a couple of years ago (cracked header and having never done ...

Re: Anyone used a maypole van cover?

Van is used regularly during winter so only used cover occasionally if i know its gonna sit for any length of time and i take off as much as possible (every sunny/...

Re: Waterproof van cover
I have one of the Maypole "water resistant" ones...keeps about 80-90%+ of water off, but more importantly it can breathe to let any moisture underneath dry out. I put a couple of old tyres on roof first to keep a gap between cover and roof which also helps a airflow. Used to use a tarpauli...

Re: Two switches and turning knob on dash?
without pics its a guessing game...can you pull switch out/see behind? try to trace wires, or if they look untidy/uneven/scotch blocks its somebodies mod and may well be left from anything over the vans last 30 years of life...try checking for power running to them?

Re: Rear seat belts and MOT
Cheers for the reply Oh bugger.... I will have to see if I can get underneath this weekend and change the broken one for a replacement one... :( Without a garage I think I may be getting wet lying underneath the van looking at the weather forecast... Why are you going under? They bolt through from ...
