Re: Dash Binnacles /Pods
Thanks, Bigherb. I asked because I want to replace the binnacle on my 1990 T25 and I almost bought a 1981 version but a mate alerted me to there having been some changes in those 9 years. Caveat Emptor!!

Dash Binnacles /Pods
Am I correct that the dash binnacles were changed in 1985 in that the shape was slightly different and so were the connections?

Re: Smell of petrol
Does your van have the 2 expansion tanks under the front foot wells linked to the main fuel tank? I have found that there is a leakage from the breather pipes (?) when I have filled the tank - they almost act as an overflow. Now I don't fill right to the top (when the fuel shoots out of the filler !...

Re: Square inner headlight adjusters - workable solution
I have just bought some adjusting screws on eBay from Eurowagens (http://www.eurowagens.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) where they are advertised as suitable for "VW Golf MK1, MK2 and Transporter T25" for £5.99. Part No.: 10213983. They are an exact match (wit...

Re: The "buzzer of death"
Just realised that I didn't post an update. Doug in Angmering fixed it. All it was was cruddy contacts and circuit board. Has gone like a dream ever since (fingers crossed and all good luck charms touched!!! ).

Re: Stuck in France! Advice for mechanics please
Sorry if this appears too simple to be true, but have you checked the fuel filter? My van conked out on me and it was as simple as that!

The "buzzer of death"
Am I correct that the buzzer not only sounds when the oil pressure is low but also when the coolant level is low?

Re: how much coolant
Is it true that the "buzzer of death" (i.e. the oil pressure alarm) also kicks in if the coolant level is too low?

Re: t25 coughing, spluttering and bucking intermittent fault!
Just as a matter of interest I was looking at this topic again when I realised that I had never posted a follow up to my comments in July. In the end I found that the filter that I had thought had been changed when I had the engine serviced had not been - therefore, a genuinely NEW filter solved the...

Re: how much coolant
Hey Ghost! Sorry to be slow in replying, but I got the tank from Brickwerks. The original VW part no.is 025 121 407A but VW replaced it with 025 121 407 B. Other companies have a "replacement" but it is not the same configuration. (For the record I have a 1990 T25 1.9 water cooled Transpor...

Re: how much coolant
Thanks very much everyone! I always treat the coolant issue with a lot of respect as I do not want the engine to blow on me due to a lack of knowledge of the technicalities of it all !! In this case, I had done all that I thought I should after replacing the tank as the old (original) one had split ...

Re: how much coolant
Thanks, but I was referring to the expansion tank on the left of the engine compartment with the black pressure cap. I think what you have shown is the top-up filler tank.

Re: how much coolant
When filling the expansion tank, should this be done right up to the top of the neck of the filler or should I leave space for the expansion to happen??

Expansion Tank
My ET is leaking. Can I just replace it and then top up with the necessary mix of water and coolant or do I have to bleed the whole system? If so, can someone please explain why the system ever needs bleeding at all?
Thanks
