How do I fit an oil pressure gauge?
On my 1986 Caravelle 1600 Turbo Diesel a transistor in the oil pressure warning light circuit has melted. The buzzer of doom sounded constantly, (though the was plenty of oil and the engine has run well) so I took out the circuit, with the intention of repairing or replacing it. I saw a post which s...

Re: When the indicator is used the side lights also come on
Thank you MarlinOwner. I have disconnected the grey lead from the ignition switch and everything is working as it should, apart from the parking lights which weren't working properly anyway.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: When the indicator is used the side lights also come on
I have a thought, as the parking light isn't working when the ignition is fully off and only works when the key starts to turn but before it is fully on, when the winker comes on as well, that sounds like ignition switch problem not indicator switch. Does that make sense?

Re: When the indicator is used the side lights also come on
I've removed the fuses and the lights don't come on with the indicator. I suppose this means that it's not a wiring fault at the lamp end and as you say probably at the indicator switch. I find the wiring diagram really difficult to relate to the bunch of wires on the steering column, though none of...

When the indicator is used the side lights also come on
1989 1.6 Turbo Diesel Caravelle. I have just failed the MOT because when the indicators flash, the side lights, back and front, of the same side, also come on as well, though not flashing. The parking light do not work. I have cleaned and checked for continuity, all the earth spade connections at th...

Re: Water still disappearing although everything replaced!
I have just picked up on this conversation because I have a related issue. My 1.6 TD blew its head gasket a while ago. I had it repaired but it has never been right since, probably because I put a lot of rad seal in before the repair. I replaced the Radiator that was completly blocked, which stopped...

Re: Is it my head gasket?
Thank you Sagemagoo. That has been how I have bled it but gas or air seems to be creeping in when the engine gets a little hot. Normally the needle sits just on the cool side of the warning light, when the needle covers the light as I climb a steep hill the warning light starts flashing and I need t...

Is it my head gasket?
1989 Type 25 1600 Turbo Diesel. You have all been very helpful sorting out my water sensor flashing light problems and it is all now working properly. However the level indicator has been coming on when the bus climbs a steep hill. It only goes off when I bleed the rad. This morning I needed to do i...

Re: how to wire up a water level indicator that bypasses the rel
I'm afraid that it isn't good news. I took the bus out for a run and it was fine on the way out but as soon as I started back the light flashed on again. I checked the water level which was fine and took out relay 43 and connectors were bright. Put it back and the light continued to flash all the wa...
