Hi,
You could always just take a feed off a fuse that is only live with the ignition on, i.e. the wipers, that way the stereo will power off when the ignition is turned off

What have you done for the electrical contacts? I've done pretty much the same but finding the contacts a little difficult to line up and temperamental. The other worrying bit was that the fridge has been removed and the wire just cut off and tucked up against the body work!!!! Just glad I checked it before plugging it into the mains!!!!!
