yes. They did. Very straightforward. I am waiting for the receipt of the work done... their printer was down. other than that, everything was done as they said it would be.

They had the Camper on wednesday and i picked it up at the weekend. I had a long journey getting down to Essex (via Londo...

Re: My new Elite recon engine

Good luck with it fella - what was wrong with the last engine, was it irrepairable? yes... apparently. You can see from the photographs head seals gone, oil leaking badly, the fear was that the studs could be corroded. The cost of repair was too close to the cost of a reconditioned engine. I just h...

My new Elite recon engine

Feeling pretty stupid having been sold a bit of a dud (1986 T25), and after much agonising, i decided to plunge headfirst into getting an Elite recon engine fitted by Elite in Essex. I had quite a lot of advice here as well. The guys at the garage have been helpful and friendly. They picked her up i...

Re: engine replacement?

If I was in this position again, I for sure would get it delivered to Elite VW and get THEM to fit one of their reconditioned (repaired) engines with their warrantee which by most accounts is good. I say get THEM to fit it to make sure the warentee is not violated and they are also doing this week i...

Re: engine replacement?

[quote="ajsimmo"]Looking at picture 2, your garage's advice looks spot on. thanks so much for the advice... my choice is to sell up on ebay (for parts) and lose quite a bit on what i paid, or spend and loose about the same but have a camper that'll take me to special places, slowly. Second...

engine replacement?

hello.... I'd really appreciate some advice for a complete novice. i have a 1986 T25 (just bought). It overheated (temp warning light came on), steam up underneath the dash and into the cabin. I stopped. The engine had splatters of antifeeze everywhere (see pics) and the water container was empty. I...

Re: Am I mad? what have i done!

That water system has been seriously messed with! Looking at the engine bay pics I wouldn't be surprised if you have multiple leaks....? Also that fuel filter needs removing from the line tween the pump and the carb, it should only have one filter, just after the tank under the van.... See you in t...

Re: Am I mad? what have i done!

Yes you are mad a T3 is nothing but a money pit, what you paid for it will pail into insignificance to the cost of fixing it up and keeping it running. but whats wrong with being mad the big grin when you drive it will make you look mad anyway. 1st thing is to find out where the coolant is leaking ...
