what is re tumbling locks?

the reason i ask is the sliding door lock is different from the rest, can i swap it with the rear door lock?

or as happened to me last week the wire from the ignition to the starter solenoid fell off.
same result, lights on, no click or starter turning.
Fixed by replacing the crimp connector on the wire.
check all the connections to the starter.

new car paint protection package- worth it?
as the heading says are they worth it? getting a new Range rover Evoque next year and the dealer wants £400 for a paint and leather protection package, exterior wax or something and a big bucket of cleaning stuff anybody used this ? and is it worth it or just another way of emptying my bank account....

Hi photo of the temporary earth wire at the starter end, fitted to the lower starter bolt. starterwire.jpg the other end at the gearbox to van braid starterwire2.jpg hope that helps - approximately 1 m long and 50 mmsq the link to the ebay site that custom makes the cables looks ideal. cheers Andy

Hi Finally got round to posting what i did to fix it on Saturday. i got a second hand Bosch starter from a guy 3 miles away and fitted it along with a heaver earth cable from the lower starter fixing bolt to the earth strap point at the gearbox front mount. engine burst into life the first time i tr...

tested the old starter with the bench setup and it works intermittently, when fitted to the van and directly connected to a battery turns the engine over sometimes slowly then normally. made up heavy duty earth strap and going to get the bits for a new positive lead. brand new starter still wont tur...

no just direct to the starter + post and the body.
i am getting a loan of a battery - starter test kit so that should help pinpoint the problem.
could it be something in the engine causing too much drag, if so what?
