Re: Battery light

It looks like the alternator may be faulty .
I tried connecting the blue wire directly to the battery ,
the light went out but still not charging .
Think I might leave it for the new year .
thanks again

Re: Thin blue wire

Thanks for that . I took the alternator to the local auto electrician and he said it’s not charging .
What are the chances of the blue wire broken and the alternator not charging at the same time .
Will let you know the final outcome . Thanks again

Thin blue wire

Hi , the thin blue wire coming from the alternator has broken on the connector block maybe a foot or so from the alternator. . I cut the block off and just joined the wire together and now the battery light
is permanently on . I cannot find the connection block . Anyone any ideas.
thanks

Re: Water pump

I ended up cutting the 2 bolts off with a grinder . Went to a local nut and bolt place and picked up a half dozen bolts .

Water pump

Hi , I had a bit of a rattle coming from the engine  . After a look around I found that the pulley for the water pump had a lot of play in it .  So I removed the old pump but I cannot remove the pulley from it . I got one bolt out but the other two won’t budge  . At this stage I’d prefer to buy a pu...

Brake fluid leak

Hi , I started the van this morning to notice a spongy brake pedal . The leak was coming from the brake light switch which I replaced a few weeks back .  I tightened the switch and refilled the fluid reservoir and the brake pedal is still spongy . Where would be the best place to start bleeding from...

It should come out with a gentle pull , it’s probably the first time in 40 years it has been removed .
