Re: JX Oil cooler seal

Thanks Aiden, the cooler came with one in the box but I also have a spare from brickworks which should be Febi. I'll use that and try to be meticulous in eyeballing everything.

JX Oil cooler seal

I've got a new JP Oil Cooler and rubber O-ring. Having fitted, torqued to 25Nm put a new oil filter on and filled up with oil when I ran the engine I had quite a significant oil leak from the cooler/O-ring. I've stripped it down but before I go for another attempt any ideas why it might be leaking? ...

Re: Coolant Change without running Engine?

I recently saw both those links when I had to replace my header tank. Cobbled something similar to the first link using pipe, bike valve and bike track pump (with pressure gauge) then used the gowesty method. Did what it needed to do although don't over pressurise. When done I did run the engine to ...

Re: Broken spigot on brake vacuum pump woes..

https://i.imgur.com/of2GjXi.jpg Quick question, above is my pump cover similar to the original post. My spiggot is still happily attached to the hose but any suggestions how I can reattach the spiggot to the lid or is it best to find a replacement? Currently it fits in fairly snug but could easily ...

Re: 1982 Viking roof canvas refurb

There's a thread a little way down this page but viking specific there's a useful page of faceache "VWV Volkswagen Vikings". Roof catches: the admin on the fbook group makes them. New vinyl from Kingswood canvas How to replace? loads of pop rivets securing vinyl to the van roof, few screws...

Re: Viking Roof - Closing with cushions...

Design: I looked around at other ideas being used, I think the large end vents I nicked from CJH on here, the zip up windows were from a photo on the vw vikings facebook page, I think kingswood recommended the rain flap and I asked for velcro straps every 30cm so I could run a warm white LED strip a...

Re: Viking Roof - Closing with cushions...

Yep got one made up by Kingswood 2-3 years ago. Sent off the old canvas as a template. 2 big semi circle vents either end, 2 large windows with zip up covers and a rain flap running under the overhang. Was definitely less than £300 inc delivery and has been great....a little condensation on a mornin...

Re: Viking Roof - Closing with cushions...

SGS Engineering appear the to get the most recommendations. Had them on my van for a good few years and no issue.

Check the stats against your current strut but the following link goes direct to what should fit.

Re: Baby car seat in the van

Congratulations on the news, we found the van fantastic when our two kids were babies for feeding, changing, sleeping etc (still do). We've got a caravelle so already have 2 3 point belts in the back. I remember Brickwerks had a kit with belts and mounting plate. For isofix there are a few threads a...

Re: Accelerator Cable Replacement

Brill, will have another check of the pipe prior to feeding in the new cable. I've not felt it being sticky and was pretty responsive...right up until I eased off down a hill and reapplied the power going up the other side. Pedal to the floor and the van eased to a stop :/

Accelerator Cable Replacement

Would I be correct in assuming that the throttle cable and sleeve sits inside a larger piece of conduit from the pedal to the rear cross member where it meets the conduit which comes with the new cable? If so how likely is the sleeve going to need replacing? I haven't removed the old cable yet, is i...
